IS YOUR TRAUMA IMPACTING ON YOUR RELATIONSHIPS?

Signs your trauma may still be impacting you:
- you find yourself risk assessing people, places, decisions, basically everything in your life
- you often become sad, angry or upset for no obvious reason
- you may be easily triggered by words, sounds, people, thoughts, feelings that are connected in some way with your trauma
- others may say things to you like you over analyse, catastrophise, are a "negative nelly" and can't see the positive
- you struggle to trust others and especially yourself
- your challenged to regulate your sleep, weight, decision making, and concentration
- you may have developed some unhealthy coping styles and dependencies
- others tell you that you are not over your trauma and need to see someone about it
The tricky thing with trauma is that when we experienced a negative event, we told ourselves something about that event and assigned value to ourselves and our life at not only a conscious level but at a deep unconscious level. As time passes without realising we layer up on that event and before we know it we have created what we call "unconscious knots" that we struggle to unravel and heal at a conscious level.
For example, let's say you have been in the army, experienced PTSD from the trauma of what you have seen and experienced...perhaps loud noises, seeing army vehicles, watching war movies etc may trigger you, but over time, you now have additional trauma and start to avoid loud places, perhaps concerts and now all of a sudden you have layered up trauma, now you have unconsciously connected concerts to your traumatic experience.
Through hypnosis we can unravel those unconscious knots and create new neural pathways and embed skills and resources into your unconscious mind that you can use consciously to run new patterns of thinking, feeling and responding. It's like getting rid of old tools in your tool kit that are not working for you and replacing them with new, useful tools that get the job done.
