Today is Down syndrome awareness day!
In celebration, we asked our very own Elisha to share a little about herself:

"My name is Elisha Bramhall, I am 34 years old and have Down syndrome. I would like to share about what it is and the best parts of having down syndrome.
Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21 (that’s why we celebrate it on the 21st). Every person who is born with down syndrome is unique with their own strengths and personality.
My favourite things to do are horse riding, being an Aunty, photography, and hanging out with my friends. I also like to volunteer at Girl Guides as a leader, at the Art gallery and help at Allsorts clinic every second Wednesday.
The best opportunity that I have been given is being interviewed on the Radio station to talk about down syndrome day a couple years ago!
If you would like to spread awareness of Down syndrome day, wear blue, yellow or your funky socks and rock them out in style."

What looks like a simple sip or bite actually involves:

✨ Pharyngeal
✨ Oesophageal
For Swallowing Awareness Day, our team is breaking down the phases of swallowing to raise awareness about dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and the important role of speech pathologists in supporting safe eating and drinking. Because safe eating and drinking is something everyone deserves.

🐨🐊 Our Australian Animals theme is back! 🐨🐊
Some of you may remember this theme from last year, and we’re bringing it back for the next few weeks with even more fun filled Australian animal activities.
Our themes run in 6 week blocks throughout the year to keep therapy exciting and engaging. After such wonderful feedback from families last year, we’re thrilled to continue the tradition in 2026!
