ADULT TAP DANCE CLASSES
TAP into DANCE!... for women who like to make noise! If you've always wanted to give it a go.... here's your chance! TAP INTO DANCE! is Central Queensland's only adult tap dance studio. We have classes to suit everyone, from the absolute beginner to advanced. There are no registration fees and we have a "first class complimentary" policy, we are so sure you'll love it. Not only are you getting active, you're learning a new skill. So what are you waiting for? Over the last eight years, TAP INTO DANCE! has taken off in leaps and bounds. The studio has twice been nominated for Rockhampton's "Best in Business" awards in the Health/Fitness category and offers fun, creative classes for our ladies to learn to tap and get fit without the overcrowing and intimidation found in other types of exercise classes, like aerobics and zumba. Our class sizes are very small in comparison to these types of classes which means it's a more personalised lesson and we have the time to help you step-by-step along the way. WHO DOES IT? Everyone! In our classes we have nurses, mums, grandmas, doctors, public servants, solicitors, chefs, teachers and retirees just to name a few. Women of varying ages, sizes and abilities all taking one, two or three classes of tap every week. The ages in the classes running at the moment range between 17 and 83! WHY DO IT? Tap really is the most fabulous artform there is. Why not bite the bullet and give it a go? It's so much fun. Tapping is the "total package." Exercise for the body and brain. It strengthens and tones the muscles, especially the legs and buttocks and provides a great workout for the heart and lungs. Tap dancing is great for anyone with osteoporosis. It's a weight bearing activity, so the body seeks out calcium to make bones stronger, everytime your foot hits the floor. Research also shows that the increased blood flow to the brain, by using the mind to memorise and recall steps and combinations through dance, helps to ward off dementia and Alzheimers. Tap dancing also contributes to your emotional health. You'd be surprised at just how much satisfaction and pleasure you get from mastering the new steps or remembering a dance. "I love tap dancing, it's fun, we sweat, we exercise, we laugh, we get the heart pumping and the legs and feet moving and we make great lifelong friends! It's an exercise that doesn't feel like a chore! Since starting tap dancing I've lost 10kgs and my blood pressure is normal (having previously been on medication for years!)" SUSAN
"It really is the most brilliant fun. I used to do it in the UK as a child. I'm a diabetic and I needed to exercise but didn't want to go to the gym. I think I laugh more than I actually learn, but laughing is good for the soul." CARMEL - 62
"I was looking for an exercise that I loved, so it would be easy to keep up long term. I had never tapped before but it had been something I had always wanted to try since I was a child. I just bit the bullet and joined. As hopeless as I was at the start - two left feet and no rhythm - it was still a great work out and addictive. The other ladies are so much fun to be around and Karlie is so patient. I have learnt a new skill, met new challenges, become fit, formed new friendships and it all comes under the umbrella of exercise!" ADAIR
"My doctor tells me tap dancing is good for my osteo and diabetes. I go because it's good fun." GLORIA
"I find myself tapping everywhere. Up the aisles of the supermarket, at work, up the hallway at home. I'm driving my husband mad!" RUTH - 55
"I'm so glad I did it. It's changed my life. I love it. I just wish I'd started learning earlier." SANDY
'Not only are Karlie's tap classes a lot of fun, they are exhilarating for mind, body and soul'.....or...'once you've soaked in epsom salts, slept until midday the following day, by mid week you have recovered enough to do it all again but don't let that put you off, it really is so much fun! :)' CAROL
'Thank you so much Karlie for all the time and effort you put into our classes. I appreciate all the extra work. I so enjoy my tapping." COLLEEN
'I'm so thrilled... I have been doing tap for approximately 8 months now and can't get enough. I attend three tap classes a week! Not only has my memory improved, but concentration and stamina are coming naturally in everyday activities. I feel my tap dancing has developed considerably, (you'll have to ask Miss Karlie) and while I may not need to attend a beginners class again, I will, as you can never have too much practice. I'm afraid I may have become addicted. :) Those who've experienced that amazing feeling of accomplishment will know what I am talking about. Oh, by the way, you will lose weight!" - LAUREN
