Essential Midwifery Pty Ltd is a unique midwifery care option being provided in Central Queensland by experienced midwives and lactation consultants, Meredith Lovegrove and Erin Russell. We are passionate about providing the choice for women to receive care from a known midwife. This continuity of care is more likely to result in:

Essential Midwifery offers expert midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, birthing and the postnatal period to six weeks after birth. Meredith and Erin are:
• Registered Midwives
• Medicare eligible Private Practice Midwives with prescribing rights
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultants
• Passionate about optimising the outcome for you and your baby and will work collaboratively with your GP, obstetrician or other health care professional to achieve that outcome
• Providing antenatal care and education, birthing support and postnatal follow up
• Erin and Meredith offer a postnatal home visiting service regardless of where you birth for up to six weeks. This includes early postnatal checks for mother and baby, support and advice with breastfeeding, normal newborn behaviours and early parenting.
• As lactation consultants, Meredith and Erin specialise in supporting mothers and babies with particular concerns around breastfeeding, including but not limited to tongue tie, supply issues, unsettled babies and previous history of breastfeeding difficulties. Lactation support is offered at any time throughout the antenatal and breastfeeding period and rebates from some private health funds are available for this service.
• Antenatal and postnatal care is provided in the comfort of your home in the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast Regions. Long distances may incur travel fees for which a Medicare rebate is not available.
