🚭 Lung Cancer Screening Saves Lives 🩺

Did you know lung cancer is Australia’s leading cause of cancer death? The new National Lung Cancer Screening Program can change that.

If you’re aged 50–70 and have a history of smoking, you may be eligible for a free low-dose CT scan. Screening every two years helps catch lung cancer early—when it’s most treatable.

💡 Even if you feel well, screening is important. Early detection makes a difference.

👉 Speak with your GP today to check your eligibility and get referred.

🌟 The National Lung Cancer Screening Program is here 🌟

Eligible Australians aged 50–70 with a history of smoking can now access free lung cancer screening through Medicare. Screening uses a low-dose CT scan to detect lung cancer early—often before symptoms appear—when treatment is most effective.

✔️ If you’ve smoked for at least 30 pack-years (e.g., one pack a day for 30 years, or two packs a day for 15 years) and currently smoke or quit within the last 10 years, you may be eligible.
✔️ Early detection saves lives—research shows screening can find up to 70% of lung cancers early

👉 Talk to your GP today about whether you’re eligible and how to get referred for your free scan.

👶 This common viral illness mostly affects young children and spreads easily in childcare and school settings.

✅ What to do:
Keep your child home from daycare/school until the blisters have dried.
