RURAL HEALTH CONNECT IS FIVE
It is hard to believe that five years have passed since since this day in Rockhampton when Rural Health Connect launched, a fledgling social enterprise with bold plans and a LOT to learn. We have now delivered more than 50,000 psychology sessions to some of the most remote parts of Australia, at bulk billed or reduced rates. The 10 psychologists we started with has grown to more than 350 providers, mostly psychologists but with some social workers, OTs and GPs as well.
A has changed in that time. The world went through COVID 19 and attitudes towards telehealth changed forever. Rural Australia has been hit by bushfires to floods and storms over and over again, yet the sense of community remains as strong as ever. We are forever inspired by the rural Australians who put their hands up for help, some of whom have waited a lifetime to do so.
The team at Rural Health Connect has grown also, both in size and knowledge. Our software has got a bit better too! (thanks to those early adopters who stuck with us).
