Last night I had the privilege of being invited to join some of my colleagues as a panelist at the Clinical Societies quarterly event about the ADHD reforms for GP Assessment and Treatment of ADHD.

This was a first time for me and my anxiety was high! It was also a reminder that we can all do hard things outside of our comfort zone when we remember our why.

As a Clinical Psychologist, ADHDer and parent of a ADHDer I am passionate about improving outcomes for individuals and families living with ADHD.

At The Co-Being Space one of our biggest values is collaboration, with clients as the experts in their own lives, and with the systems of support around them including GPs, schools, family and workplaces.

It was wonderful having the opportunity to start building connections with GPs and Specialists in the region.

📣 We’re hiring in Rockhampton

At Allys Johnson Psychology, we believe great therapy starts with belonging, for clients and for practitioners.

✨ build a sustainable rhythm that supports your wellbeing

We provide:
🤍 a warm, inclusive, neuroaffirming culture

🌱 steady referrals matched to your interests
🧠 space to grow your niche, skills, or assessment work over time

Our work is grounded in connection, clarity, curiosity, accountability, and integrity. We walk alongside people, honour lived experience, and focus on outcomes that genuinely improve daily life, not just what looks good on paper.

World Kindness Day | 13 November

Kindness is more than a nice gesture. It supports mental health, builds connection and reminds us that we are not alone.

Today is a good day to offer kindness
To others
To your community
To yourself

A small act of care can have a big impact. Whether it is a kind word, a quiet check-in or simply being present, it all matters.

Let’s choose kindness today and every day.

Boundaries don’t have to end in blowups.

Try pairing your limit with empathy:
“I can see you’re upset, and I still can’t change that decision.”

It sounds simple — but it’s powerful.
Calm + clarity = connection.

Some weeks, the hardest part isn’t doing the work — it’s finding the courage to begin again.

At Allys Johnson Psychologist (soon to be The Co-Being Space), we believe in progress over perfection.
In our clinical work and in life, trying — showing up, learning, growing — matters far more than getting it right the first time.

Failure isn’t the opposite of success. It’s how we learn to adapt, build resilience, and discover new ways forward.

✨ Whether you’re a client taking the first step toward support, or a clinician building confidence in your practice — remember: you can’t grow without trying.

🌿 WHEN STRESS BECOMES TOO MUCH: YOU DON’T HAVE TO NAVIGATE IT ALONE

Some stress is part of life — but when it starts to shape how you sleep, think, or connect, it’s time to pause and check in.

At The Co-Being Space, we help adults and professionals who are feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or stuck in stress patterns that don’t seem to shift.

Our sessions offer a space to:
🌿 Understand what your stress is really trying to tell you
💬 Learn tools to calm your mind and body
🪴 Reconnect with what matters most — work, family, and yourself

Whether your stress looks like exhaustion, irritability, procrastination, or just feeling “off,” you don’t have to navigate it alone.

✨ Support doesn’t mean weakness — it’s the first step toward balance.

📩 We currently have limited appointments available for new clients.

🌿 Feeling burnt out doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it’s a quiet exhaustion — the kind that makes even small things feel heavy.

This is your gentle reminder to pause.
To breathe before you push.
To rest, not because you’ve earned it, but because you need it.

Every small act of care counts:
☀️ Stepping outside for sunlight
💧 Drinking a full glass of water
📱 Turning off notifications for ten minutes
💬 Saying “not today” to one more demand

Burnout recovery isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing less, with intention.
You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to care for yourself too.

✨ Every little step forward counts.

💬 What’s one small act of care you can give yourself today? Comment below — your idea might be exactly what someone else needs.

Some seasons feel heavier than others.
And during Mental Health Month, you might notice the quiet pressure to “be okay.”

But here’s the truth: wellbeing isn’t a goal to reach — it’s a relationship to nurture.
It’s okay if your version of care today looks like doing less, cancelling plans, or choosing stillness over productivity.

Your nervous system needs rest just as much as it needs support.

🌿 One small thing: take 60 seconds today to breathe — really breathe — and notice how your body feels when you give it permission to slow down.

💚 You don’t need to do it all. You just need to keep showing up for yourself.

👉 Save this post for a gentle reminder on the hard days.

Connect and Reset

This World Mental Health Day, we’re reminding each other that meaningful connection supports mental wellbeing.

A simple chat with a friend
A moment of quiet to breathe
A walk with someone who gets it

Connection helps us feel grounded and supported. It can be the first step toward feeling more like yourself.

Reach out to someone today. Or take a moment to check in with yourself. Both count.
