📣 A Huge Weekend of Celebration for Our Incredible Kerry-Lea 🎓✨
What a weekend it’s been for our very own Kerry-Lea Quinn — the heart and soul of Giant Oak Learning 💚
On Saturday night, Kerry-Lea represented us at the Queensland Training Awards as a finalist for Small Employer of the Year — an incredible honour and achievement in itself.
But the celebrations didn’t stop there.
The very next morning, Kerry-Lea and her beautiful family made the drive to Brisbane, where she proudly walked across the stage at her Graduation Ceremony to receive her Master of Human Services Majoring in Disability Practice from Griffith University! 👩🎓🌟
We couldn’t be prouder of Kerry-Lea’s strength, resilience, and unstoppable determination — and we wanted to share her powerful words with you all:
“If you’re looking for a story about resilience, determination, and the power of community, this is it. When I enrolled in my Master of Human Services (majoring in Disability Practice) at Griffith University, I had no idea that just two weeks later, my life would change forever—I suffered a stroke.”
“Out of all my degrees, this one means the most to me, not just for the academic achievement, but for the journey it represents. The stroke left me having to relearn the most basic skills: how to walk, talk, and use my right side. For 18 months, I juggled intensive rehabilitation with my university studies, teaching myself how to write, type, and even cut my food again—with my husband by my side, helping every step of the way. I learned how to be a wife and mum all over again, rebuilding my independence and confidence piece by piece.”
“This degree is more than a qualification; it’s a testament to the support of my family, friends, and everyone who stood by me when I needed it most. Thank you for believing in me, for your patience, encouragement, and love. I couldn’t have done this without you. ♥️”
Kerry-Lea, your story inspires us all. Your heart, dedication, and the way you lift others up is what makes Giant Oak Learning such a special place. 💚
Congratulations from all of us — we are so lucky to have you leading the way!
