On Monday 17 November – World Prematurity Day, Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton will celebrate the incredible journey of their tiniest patients and the dedicated midwives who cared for them. 💜

Join them for a special morning tea in the Tamarind Room (Kenmore Building) at 9am on Monday, where mums and their little ones who spent time in the hospital’s Special Care Nursery can reconnect with the amazing Mater People who were there with them from the very beginning.

They’d love to see how much your little miracles have grown!

🧠 Advancing spine care in Central Queensland

We’re excited to introduce Mater neurosurgeons Dr Jason Papacostas and Dr Tony Tsahtsarlis, who bring extensive expertise in spine care to the Central Queensland community.

Treating conditions like nerve pain and sciatica, Dr Papacostas and Dr Tsahtsarlis are passionate about working alongside local GPs to improve patient outcomes through both conservative and surgical approaches.

They’ll be in Rockhampton for the 2025 CQ GP Conference, where they look forward to meeting local GPs and sharing insights during their spine-focused session on cervical and lumbar radiculopathy.
