“A scan saved my life — I had no symptoms at all.”
🎥As seen on Channel 9 News recently, the newly launched National Lung Cancer Screening Program is already making a life-saving impact. Incredibly, one man discovered he had early-stage lung cancer, despite having no signs or symptoms, simply because he followed up with a scan after speaking with his GP.

👉Now, eligible Australians aged 50–70 with a history of heavy smoking can access a free, low-dose CT scan through this program. It could mean the difference between early treatment or missing the signs altogether.

This week marks National Stroke Week.
Could you recognise the signs?
The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. method to recognise the common signs of stroke:
➡️Face drooped?
➡️Arms can’t be raised?
➡️Speech slurred or confused?
➡️Time is critical! Call 000

Hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis) and build-up of fatty substances (atherosclerosis) can trigger blood clots that block:
🔹blood vessels in heart (heart attack)
🔹arms and legs (peripheral vascular disease), and
🔹brain (stroke)
