Harmony Week is a time to celebrate the incredible diversity that makes Australia what it is today.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a shared sense of belonging for everyone, no matter where you come from or what language you speak at home.

Australia is one of the most vibrant multicultural countries in the world. From the world’s oldest continuing culture of our First Nations peoples, to the cultures of our newest arrivals, our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

It's incredible to think that:
*️⃣Nearly half of Australians were born overseas or have at least one parent who was
*️⃣We identify with over 300 ancestries
*️⃣Since 1945, more than 7.5 million people have migrated to Australia
*️⃣ More than 70 Indigenous languages are spoken across the country

At Central Queensland Radiology, we're proud to care for a community reflecting this diversity. Behind every scan is our team from different backgrounds, experiences and stories, united by one shared purpose: caring for our patients with respect and compassion.

This Harmony Week, we celebrate what brings us together and the richness that makes each of us unique.

🧡 Everyone belongs. 💙

This is how we’re inspiring the next generation of medical imaging specialists!
Throughout the year we invite small groups of Year 10, 11 and 12 students to our clinic for Student Open Nights.

Our Radiographers, Sonographers and Nuclear Medicine Technologists share what a career in medical imaging looks like. Students see the technology in action, ask questions and learn how imaging guides patient care.

Many students are surprised to learn that these careers are:
✴️High in demand: with jobs available across Australia and internationally
✴️Rewarding: make a difference in patients’ lives every day
✴️Always evolving: continuous learning and cutting-edge technology keeps the role exciting

This is Central Queensland Radiology’s commitment to our local community and to the wider medical imaging industry. Strong healthcare tomorrow starts with inspiring curious minds today, to achieve our vision of a healthier world.

What would you like to know about a career in medical imaging?

Ever wonder why your doctor sends you for an X-rays, CT scan or an MRI?

In short:
▫️X-rays show bones and dense structures; detect fractures and infections.
▫️CT scans show detailed cross-sectional images of organs, bones, bleeding and tumours.
▫️MRI scans show high-contrast images of soft tissues, joints, brain, spine and organs.
Each type of imaging allows our Radiologist to assess a specific concern and provide a detailed report.

Your GP or specialist will know which scan is best and write this on your referral.
When you come in for your appointment, your radiographer will explain your procedure to you.
