Hi, Kathy here. I thought it was time I gave you an update. I have finally recovered from my 13 broken ribs. I can take deep breaths without pain. My lungs 🫁 were 60% full of water so the lady who pulled me out of the car came quickly which is why I didn’t drown. I get tired and breathless after any exertion which is why I have had a stairlift installed on my back stairs.
Of course the grief of losing my beloved Barry will go on for a long time.
I am hoping to see 2 or 3 clients in the afternoons as recommended by my Specialist and psychologist for 4 days a week starting on the week of the 25th August. I can’t work during the September/ October school holidays as we have a family wedding!
I am very keen to see all my clients again, I just need to plan for a slow start. Now that I am not concentrating on my physical health, I realise how much I have missed you all.
Hopefully during term 4 I will be able to increase my work load.
I want to give you my deepest thanks for accepting that I have been unable to work for so long! Thank you all very much for your expressions of sympathy and the flowers you sent. Plus your offers to help. I am so deeply touched by you all.
Our wonderful Fiona will be in touch with all my clients to see when appointments can be made.

When baby giraffes are born they are 183 centimetres (6 feet) tall like most Dads. They look little beside their mum because she is 610 centimetres ( 20 feet) tall! WOW! That is very tall isn’t it?

I wanted to give you all an update on my recovery. I am slowly improving but will need to work on being able to get around without getting breathless. Thanks to you all for your well wishes for my recovery and messages of condolence to me on the death of Barry. He truly was a kind, generous, helpful gentleman and I will miss him terribly.
I want to especially Thank my clients who have missed weeks of speech therapy. I have been thinking of you all and I hope to gradually return to work during term 3 Our fabulous receptionist, Fiona, will keep you updated.
I will be returning to Rockhampton in the next week or so and will have to learn to live my new life without Barry by my side. Unlike physical recovery, the effects of grief can be very unpredictable day by day, so I plan to make a slow return to work, keeping this in mind.

Only 2 more weeks of Term 2 to go. You can all make it and then you can enjoy 2 weeks of school holidays!
