Good Vibrations Surprise Concert!

We had two beautiful family members drop by for an impromptu concert in our Long Gallery as part of the Good Vibrations exhibition and wow, what a moment!

With one of our pianos in the gallery for rhe exhibition, the space came alive as residents and staff gathered to sing along with these two incredible talents. The energy, the smiles, the music, was pure magic.

A huge thank you to our surprise performers for sharing your gift and creating such a joyful experience.

You truly brought the good vibrations to life!

Breast Cancer Awareness Morning Tea 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honour the strength, courage, and resilience of those affected by breast cancer, whether personally or through loved ones.

Today, we came together with residents, families, and friends for a beautiful morning tea to mark this important month. 💗

We were joined by the lovely Peter and Ron, who shared their music and spirit with us. Peter’s connection to breast cancer through his own family made the morning especially meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in support, remembrance, and celebration.

International Day of Older Persons

Today, and every day, we honour the incredible wisdom, resilience, and stories of our elders. They are the keepers of our history, the teachers of life’s lessons, and the heart of our communities.

At Benevolent Living, we are privileged to walk alongside our residents, celebrating their achievements, listening to their journeys, and supporting them to live with dignity, community, and purpose.

Ageing is not just about years lived, it’s about the purpose, knowledge, and strength passed on to future generations.

To our residents: today and every day, we celebrate you. Thank you for inspiring us with your courage, humour, and wisdom.

We marked the occasion with a beautiful morning tea shared with our residents and their families. Thank you to everyone who joined us to honour the love, strength, and guidance of dads everywhere.

Here’s to the dads who raised us, the ones who walk beside us, and the memories that live on. 💙

A Walk to Remember – Let’s Keep Moving!

We’re off to a fantastic start with 350 laps completed so far in A Walk to Remember!

But we’re not done yet. Our goal is 2,000 laps, and we need everyone’s help to get there. Whether you’re walking solo, with a friend, or as part of a team, every lap counts towards supporting this incredibly worthwhile cause.

So lace up those shoes, grab your water bottle, and hit the park your steps are making a difference!

Don’t forget to share your progress and tag us, we’d love to see your smiling faces out there.

Let’s walk together, remember together, and make every step count. 💜

Our very own Arts Activation and Programming Coordinator, Eleanor Palmer, was invited to speak at the 2025 Public Galleries Queensland Directors Forum held at the Rockhampton Museum of Art today!

Eleanor presented in the session “Beyond the Gallery Walls: Outreach Visual Arts Programming”, which explored how galleries are using the power of visual art to create deep and meaningful community engagement—far beyond their physical walls.

Her presentation showcased the incredible work happening right here in our Long Gallery, where visual arts programming is not just about building audiences, but about changing lives. From exhibitions that honour Benevolent’s History to intergenerational initiatives, Eleanor’s stewardship continues to inspire and connect our community in powerful ways.

Please join us in congratulating Eleanor on this well-deserved recognition and for representing Benevolent Living with such passion and creativity!
