Eunoia Counselling & Outdoor Therapies eunoia- A pure and well- balanced mind
"beautiful thinking" THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE! Bridget has worked across the community and social services for over 25 years.

'eunoia' was developed out of a deep desire to recapture connection, beauty and meaning in the everyday. Many people (adults, adolescents and children alike), appear to be trapped in unfulfillment; whether it's by circumstances, limited thinking or unmanageable emotions. Having worked in conventional models of 'people/ support work' by way of program delivery, mental health, addictions recovery, youth, sexuality and relationships- counselling, lecturing and chaplaincy, it became clear that recapturing a sense of self and purposeful living takes more than just program participation or 'talk therapy.' In other words- getting outside the four walls. Bridget takes the 'COME AS YOU ARE' approach and offers support to tap into what's meaningful. She has been known to, 'comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.' She has appreciation for accessing the beauty offered in the natural world to integrate into her practices. Generic and alternative counselling therapies are on offer all within a strength- based & person- centred approach to well-being.
'eunioa' is situated in the beautiful South East of Hobart and offers her beautiful animals as supportive 'helpers' if requested. Bridget holds a Bachelor in Applied Social Sciences- Counselling; with memberships to the appropriate Counselling governing bodies- PACFA & CCAA, ATL & AABAT.

Ears to Hear... All- knowing, ever- present, all- loving. Everywhere...Biophilia: "love of life."
In "pneuma" 💨 the breath of God - The Spirit.
Trees 🌱 In how the trees communicate, gently whispering or clapping their hands.
Canine 🐾 the stronger the bond between a human and a dog, the greater the oxytocin (feel good hormones).
Equine 🐴 A horse’s heart is 10 times the size of a human heart and generates an electromagnetic field that has a soothing effect, reducing our heart rate, blood pressure, & the amount of cortisol (stress hormones) and it can also cause the feel-good endorphins to increase in us....

Watching the magnificence of the bright rays powerfully shoot light from heaven's realm to earth.
It touches & permeates through the dark clouds, though the hardened earth's surface & offers warmth, life, love. Let light shine in, on & through the dark places... And feel seen, touched, loved.

Equine Therapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy:

Participants can utilise equine therapy and other animal therapies if these are all delivered by qualified allied health professionals e.g Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist etc. Therefore it is charged under the therapy line item and the animals and outdoor environment are incorporated into the therapy activities to promote engagement and effective therapy - also known as Equine assisted learning/therapy or animal assisted learning/therapy. To ensure it’s funded under the NDIS you just need to ensure it’s delivered by the qualified allied health professional as per the NDIS Guidelines.

It’s important to note: Participants are not getting “animal therapy”. They are getting Occupational Therapy or Speech therapy and working towards their therapy/NDIS goals. The animals and nature may be incorporated into activities to assist with achieving their allied health therapy goals (Just how clinic based therapist incorporate a lot of other stimuli to achieve their goals. Just because it’s not based in a clinic ‘room’ setting doesn’t mean it isn’t OT or speech therapy).

Update - the NDIS are currently updating their NDIS operational guidelines to provide clearer context for all providers.

We hope this helps!
