Remember, sleep and rest are not the same things.

We go through life thinking we’ve rested because we have gotten enough sleep but we are missing out on the other types of rest we desperately need. You have seven key areas of your life:

1. Physical Rest is about resting your body. In addition to sleep, physical rest can include anything that restores your body, like getting a massage or attending a yoga class.

2. Mental Rest is about giving your brain a break. People need mental rest when they’re overwhelmed and struggle to shut off their thoughts.

3. Sensory Rest is about giving your senses a break. People need sensory rest when they overwhelm their senses.

4. Creative Rest is about exposing yourself to artistic, nature-based, and innovative environments, without feeling the need for product creation.

5. Emotional Rest is about being authentic and honest with your feelings. People need emotional rest.

6. Social Rest is about pursuing positive, energizing, and supportive social connections, or simply taking a break from socialization altogether.

7. Spiritual Rest is about connecting with something larger than yourself. People need spiritual rest when they find themselves.

It's Christmas time!🎄

While we're all busy worrying about the big things in life, let's remember to take a moment to be grateful for the little things - like that special someone who always makes you feel like your best self, or the simple pleasure of curling up with a good book.

Let's take this opportunity to remind ourselves that, no matter how tough things get, we're never alone.

So this season, we want to share this calendar.

Breathing is one of the most important things in life and I am excited to share this Five Finger Breathing technique that I find useful tp ground and recentre when caught up in a stressful moment.

It’s a well known exercise used as a tool for stress and anxiety management. When we breathe, we send oxygen-rich blood to our organs. When we breathe deeply, with the diaphragm we send blood to all our vital organs: heart, stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys, and of course a healthy and mindful mind.

Breath in and Breathe out.

Swipe left and let us learn these techniques.

Looking back on the past can help you define who you are today.

You are not alone in recalling the good times. We all have good memories of a time when we felt happier, and that time is just as valid to you as it is to everyone else.

This process allows you to appreciate your current experiences, express gratitude for what you have, and enjoy life to the fullest. Sharing these memories with other people encourages social interaction which leads to a greater sense of well-being.

Take a look at our Reminiscent Calendar for November for some inspiration for remembering and looking back.

We listen, support, and encourage as you reminisce this November. Give us a call or drop us an e-mail, and we will be happy to talk with you.

We all want different things and it's a big part of what makes life interesting.

Stay focused on your goals, don't let others define you, and always keep an open mind.

Anyone can be a carer. 1 in 9 Victorians are carers.

The carer role will touch all of us at some point in our lives - either because we will need to care for a loved one or we will find ourselves in need of care.

Before too long, 1 in 7 Victorians will be carers.

World Mental Health Day has come and gone, but it’s an important reminder that not everyone feels as healthy mentally as they should. We all have different definitions of a “healthy mind”.

Last October 10th we celebrate world Mental Healthy Day. The theme of 2022 set by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) is “Make mental health for all a global priority”. So, what support team and well-being practices are non-negotiables to ensure you are taking care of your mental health?

Don’t let a mental health issue stop you from doing what you love. Look at our Clarity Calendar for October for inspiration and celebrate your mental health and well-being throughout October.

Healing from any issue takes time and courage, as well as knowing that asking for help is a strong first step.

Take the time to care for yourself and those around you. Care for your mental health, support your friends and family, and carry out positive actions in your community. Make sure that everyone has an opportunity to live their best lives.

This World Mental Health Day is a good time to reflect on your wellbeing.
