I KNOW how to fuel my body and I still got it wrong.
Big training = big fuel.
But I under fuelled after a big few training days and my body told me.

Session felt HARD not because I’m unfit but because I didn’t eat enough.

One large meal later…
Energy up. Head clear. Back to ME.

If I can get this wrong, you probably are too.

Under fuelling shows up as:
Poor sessions.
Slow recovery.
Cravings.
Low motivation.
Low mood.

You can’t train hard and eat light.
Fuel your body properly.

Eat for the training you’re doing not the body you’re chasing.

Base. Build. Peak. Taper.
From a broken ankle and no running to safely building up to 110km+ weeks.
12 weeks of hard work.
A lot of kms.
A lot of sweat.
A lot of food.
And a lot of soaking in hot springs!!
Now it’s time to taper and see if it all pays off.

The next 3 weeks is all about reduced kms, prioritising sleep, fuelling and recovery.

Great Ocean Road Marathon - I’m ready.
Goal: 5 minutes quicker than last year.
(It might not sound like much but it is.)

I know I can do it because if I don’t believe in myself, it won’t happen.

Believe it. Back it. Execute.

There comes a point where chasing “skinny” stops making sense. In your 40s, 50s and beyond your focus needs to shift.
From smaller to stronger
From less food to better fuelling
From punishment to performance
Because the goal shouldn't be just to look good, it’s to feel good, move well and stay capable for life.
Strong women age well.
And that doesn’t come from under eating and overtraining.
It comes from training properly and fuelling your body like it matters.

I absolutely loved this run and knocked off 32 minutes from last year.
This pic was taken at the finish line! Maybe I wasn't happy it was over!!!!

Freezing cold, covered in mud, challenged my mind and body, out in nature, Mick at the finish line - although the pic doesn't say it, this brings me pure joy and contentment.

Nothing else could make me feel more alive.

Then wondering why:
They feel flat
Always sore
Sleep is off
Results have stalled

You can’t out-train poor fuelling.

42km 1600m elevation ⛰️ of mud, fallen trees and bark!!!

3rd female. These woman are to fast for me for this distance. My body is designed for 50km +!!!! Long and slow 🤣

Felt super fit and strong 💪 This was just a training run for bigger things to come so absolutely stoked with how my body and mind is feeling. Yay for all my hard work.

No words to describe the beauty of Tarra-Bulga 🤯

I’m honestly sick of seeing & hearing women trying to get 'skinny' while compromising their health at the same time. Especially as we age, it’s never been more important to build strong bodies.

You can’t build strength on an under-fuelled body.
We need to fuel well to be strong and to feel strong.

Strong over skinny ALWAYS.

Your future self will thank you.
