Kids need to move not just for fitness but for their mental and emotional health.
More children are struggling with anxiety, low mood and emotional regulation than ever before and while there are many factors, one of the biggest contributors is simple:
They are sitting too long and moving too little.
The research is clear:
* Kids who move daily have better mood, focus, confidence and sleep.
* Physical activity reduces anxiety and depressive symptoms in children.
* Movement increases dopamine and serotonin, the feel-good chemicals screens deplete.
* Active kids perform better academically, movement literally strengthens learning pathways in the brain.
* Even 30–60 minutes of movement a day can completely shift a child’s behaviour, energy and emotional balance.
And yet most kids are spending hours a day in front of screens.
Their bodies are designed for climbing, running, jumping, lifting, balancing, not sitting.
Let’s change that.
A walk. A bike ride. A game outside. Throwing a ball. Jumping on the trampoline. Whatever gets them off the couch and connected back to life.
It doesn’t need to be fancy.
It just needs to happen.
Movement is medicine.
