Welcoming in 2026.
Instead of making New Year's resolutions I do a process where I choose 3 Values to focus on for the year.
I start the process by brainstorming a list of values... about 20 or so. I then circle what feels to be the most relevant...I really feel into each one. I choose 5 or 6. I then pick the 3 that I want to focus on for the year. These are usually things that I value highly but feel I'd like more of in my life. Sometimes, they might be things that make me feel a little uncomfortable. I then write a short paragraph about each Value, a definition of what they mean to me(not a dictionary definition).
From here I'm placed in a great position to make some value based goals that have lots of meaning for me. Not what culture and society tells me are worthy goals. I find creating value based goals makes it easier, more fun and more meaningful to achieve goals.
