More Than a Poem… A Different Way of Learning
This is not just a poem we read to children.
And this is not just an activity we complete.
This is how we teach.
While many approaches focus on outcomes,
we begin with wonder.
While others may guide children toward one answer,
we open space for many possibilities.
In our environment, children are not told what to see
they are invited to notice.
To follow the ants without rushing.
To question where they are going.
To feel the bark and describe its story.
To pause… and listen to Country.
We don’t rush to the final product.
We value the thinking, the questioning, the exploration that happens along the way.
Because learning is not a worksheet.
It is not a fixed result.
It is a lived experience.
Here, children are researchers.
They are decision-makers.
They are co-constructors of knowledge.
And this poem becomes more than words
it becomes a pathway into deep thinking, connection, and respect for the world around them. This is the difference.
We don’t just teach children what to learn
we nurture how they see.
