Good recovery isn’t complicated, and it may seem boring… but it’s the basics that work best. More and more people are investing in new recovery tools/technologies and still being just as injured… because they haven’t addressed the basics.
This issue isn’t that recovery doesn’t work, it’s that you’re skipping the foundations.
Sleep, nutrition and hydration are the Big 3. They are the recovery foundations. Ice baths, saunas, supplements, light therapy… they’re the icing on the cake. If you don’t have the cake, the icing doesn’t matter.
If you’re sleeping 5-6 hours a night, under-eating and dehydrated. No recovery tool is going to make a meaningful difference.
Be honest, are your basics dialled in?
