We’re excited to welcome Dr Maryia Badshah to the Rutherford Doctors team 👩‍⚕️

Dr Badshah is our newest GP, bringing a broad and valuable range of clinical experience across emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and haematology. Her background in Queensland hospitals has shaped her calm, thorough and compassionate approach to patient care, especially when it comes to acute presentations and supporting patients through complex health needs.

What really stands out is her genuine focus on people. Dr Badshah is passionate about preventive health, patient education, and making sure every patient feels heard, understood and supported in their healthcare journey. Whether it’s a routine check-up, ongoing health management, or something that just doesn’t feel quite right, she takes the time to care properly.

Let's be honest, nobody budgets a week of sick days, cancelled plans, and a box of tissues for winter. 🤧

Flu season has arrived in the Hunter and now is a great time to speak with your GP about whether a flu vaccination is right for you. The Australian Government recommends annual flu vaccinations for many Australians, particularly those who may be at higher risk of complications from influenza, including:

🧒 Young children under 5

👴 Adults aged 65 and over

🤰 Pregnant women

🏥 People with certain chronic health conditions

🪶 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
