ELLA.

Ella began practicing yoga on and off from a young age alongside her mum, but truly fell in love with the practice after moving to an ashram and yoga retreat at the end of 2023. She spent 16 months there, living and practicing both on and off the mat, deepening her connection to yoga and its philosophy.

During this time, she completed her Yin and Vinyasa teacher training with Essence of Living on the Gold Coast. Now, she is excited to share these beautiful ancient practices with others. Ella is back home for a few months before travelling to Portugal later this year to continue her journey teaching yoga.

“I truly believe in yoga for life. From children all the way through to your later years, there is always space for you on the mat. My time at the ashram taught me that yoga is so much more than the poses or how flexible you are - yoga isn’t about doing, it’s about being.
My intention is to create spaces where people can come and simply be, allowing the day, the week, or the year to move through you as you practice. I also love offering a little TLC through hands-on adjustments. I hope for you to walk out of the room feeling refreshed and reset, ready to take on the week ahead.”

Ella’s first class at the studio will be on Monday 23 March, 6 pm Yin 🤍

This week’s practice is about softening — steadying that restless, scattered, outward-moving energy — and choosing to pause over autopilot.

The three gunas — rajas, tamas and sattva — learning when to move, when to rest, and when to simply be. Do you ever find yourself torn between all three? I do.

We don’t have to match the speed of everything around us.
Clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from creating space.

Space through breath.
Space through awareness.
Space through choosing stillness over constant doing.

Off the mat, space looks like a pause before responding.
A breath before words.
Choosing intention & alignment over speed.

It’s listening fully, really listening.
Not feeling the need to over-explain.
Standing steady & grounded in your life.

Space isn’t lazy, passive or indulgent.
It’s expansive.

We don’t practice yoga for a “summer body,” a “winter body,” or any version of ourselves shaped by trends.

We practice yoga for the older version of you —
the 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, even 90-year-old you.

The future you who still wants to move with ease.
To lift.
To travel.
To explore the world and live fully in your body.

We practice to build resilience, mobility, and awareness — not just for now, but for a lifetime.

Stay consistent.
Be dedicated.
Challenge yourself when it’s time.
Soften when it’s needed.

Let the practice be a place where you meet who you truly are.

Your future self will feel it.
And one day, they’ll thank you for it.

A few extra opportunities to move on the mat with us are coming soon….. watch this space folks!

Christmas doesn’t have to be loud to be sacred.

In a season that asks us to rush, consume, and perform happiness,
may this day offer you something softer.

A pause.
A breath.
A moment of being, rather than doing.

I hope you feel supported — by your body, your breath, the people who matter, and the parts of yourself that don’t need fixing or proving.

If this year has stretched you, may you honour that.
If it has softened you, may you trust that too.

Thank you for walking this year with me — on the mat, in conversation, in community, and in quiet moments you may not even realise you shared.

Wishing you a Christmas that feels true to you.
Restful. Grounded. Enough.

With gratitude and warmth,
Genevieve 🤍

The modern world is obsessed with flexibility.
But yoga… yoga was never designed for the body alone.
It was designed for the soul.

For those of us who practice yoga regularly, we know the physical benefits are IMMENSE; flexibility, strength, muscular endurance & many more, but there is so much more to yoga.

In the old traditions, you didn’t choose yoga.
Yoga chose you —
the moment you were ready to confront yourself.

Not ready to bend deeper…
ready to see deeper.

The sages called it adhikāri-bheda:
yoga only unfolds for the one prepared from within —
mentally humbled, emotionally open, spiritually hungry.

Because flexibility happens in the muscles.
Readiness happens in the samskāras —
the old impressions you’re finally willing to unlearn.

You don’t enter yoga because your hamstrings suddenly softened.
You enter because your ego softened.

That moment when you stop performing for the world
and start listening to the whisper inside that says:
“There is more.
You are more.
Go inward.”

Some people practice for years and never transform…
and others touch the mat once and everything shifts.

Come join me tomorrow morning (Saturday) 9.15 am Hatha

In yoga philosophy, all things are transient — anicca.
We cannot discover new ground while clinging to old soil.

Change is the nature of life, and yoga teaches us to meet it with steadiness and grace.

Each time you rise, you leave something behind:
a comfort, a belief,
a rhythm that no longer aligns.
These small losses are sacred — they create the space for your unfolding.

Yoga invites us into aparigraha, the practice of not holding on.
When we release our grip on what was, we make room for what is waiting to emerge.

Take a breath.
Honor both the becoming — and the letting go.

Can you feel that energy in the air?
That push — and all the marketing — telling us we’re running out of time, that we need to hurry, that there isn’t enough, that we’re behind.
That energy? It’s real. And it’s hard not to get swept up in the fast pace of this time of year.

What do you notice in your body right now?
Your thoughts? Your breath?

Tension? Tightness? Fatigue, brain fog, stress?
Maybe holding your breath… or breathing just a little too quickly?

If so, you’re not alone. I feel it too.

But what if you stepped away from that pace — even for an hour?

Our full yoga timetable runs right up until Christmas, offering plenty of chances to recalibrate, renew, restore, and return to yourself.

Whether you’re craving dynamic movement or the softness of slower practices, there’s space for you.

Imagine moving into this season with a calmer nervous system, a steadier breath, a clearer mind.
