Hi Members
I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our Snr Vice President and Whalan's President Sylvia Hamilton.
Losing someone we love is an unimaginable pain, and the void left behind by their absence is immense. Sylvia was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. Sylvia will be remembered for her kindness and compassion for the Waratahs Slimmers Association and also her Whalan club. We will miss you Sylvia until we all meet again.

Dear members-“ It is with much sadness that Raymond Terrace Waratah Slimmers announce the passing of our former, long time member, Maureen Renshaw.
Maureen passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 28th November, 2023.
On 18th October, 1993, Maureen, along with her daughter Donna, joined Raymond Terrace Waratah Slimmers. In 1995, both Donna and Maureen Graduated. This was no mean feat for Donna, as Donna had Down Syndrome. Maureen was always by her side to encourage and ‘spoil’ her.
Maureen served as Secretary of our slimmers from 1997 until 2012 and Donna was on the committee, helping out where she could.
Both Donna and Maureen entered Nursing Homes around 6 years ago. Wendy, our Treasurer, and former neighbour of Maureen and Donna, has visited Maureen every Tuesday, and Donna regularly, and kept her up to date on the ‘goings’ on of our Club, and in turn, us, of their progress.
Donna passed away last year on the 23rd September, and had lived a full and wonderful life, always met you with open arms and a warm hug, and a story of her latest adventures, with her dear Mum standing, beaming, proudly alongside of her.
Maureen has now joined Donna, and I am sure she was there, with open arms, to greet her Mum.
The funeral for Maureen will be held next Wednesday 6th December, 2023, 11 a.m. Boots Funerals at Raymond Terrace, at the same place we farewelled Donna, just over 14 months ago.
Rest in peace Maureen. Reunited with your dear Donna”
