Proud to be supporting SUFC this season 💙⚽

I’m excited to be sponsoring the Senior Player of the Week awards across the Seniors, 2nd Division, 3rd Division and Women’s teams this year!

These weekly awards have been designed with players in mind. Not just as a prize, but as practical support to help keep SUFC players strong, moving well, and performing at their best throughout the season.

The player packs include a mix of things like Stretch & Release Packs, Stability Packs, Strapping Packs, Recovery Support Packs, Foot Foundations Packs, as well as physio treatment and screening sessions. Tools that can genuinely help players level up their game and stay on the pitch.

Looking forward to putting useful, practical support in players’ hands and backing the people who show up week after week for the club.

Wishing all players a strong season ahead. Let's go SUFC! 💙⚽

This is such a beautiful cause to get behind 💛

I'm proud to be supporting the Newborn Intensive Care Foundation fundraiser, helping raise funds for babies and families who need a little extra care and support during some of life’s most challenging moments.

This year’s fundraiser is helping raise money for vital signs monitors for the Sale Hospital Maternity Ward, an incredibly important piece of equipment to support the care and safety of mums and newborn babies in our local community.

There are raffle tickets available as well as an online silent auction, with some amazing prizes up for grabs. The Essential Armoury has donated one an Essential Physio Reset Package which is running as a Silent Auction Prize. ✨

If you’ve been thinking about supporting a great local cause, this is a wonderful one. Every ticket, every bid, and every bit of support makes a difference.

Keep an eye on the fundraiser details below and jump in if you can 💛

ANZAC Day is always a special time of reflection for me. But it feels a little different this year.

As a veteran with a family where service has been a significant part of our story, this is one of the first years where most of us are no longer wearing the uniform.

It’s a strange shift, because even when the service ends, the identity, the connection, and the memories don’t just disappear.

A recent visit to the War Memorial with my Dad, who served in the Navy, was a quiet reminder of that shared history. Not just ours, but the many generations and other families whose lives have been shaped by service.

ANZAC Day is a moment to pause, reflect, and acknowledge all of it. The service, the transition, and what remains.

It also quietly shapes the way I show up in my work, with an understanding that our bodies carry more than just physical load, and that care often needs to meet people where they’re at, not just where we expect them to be.

Lest we forget 🤍

Lately I’ve found myself reflecting on what it really means to “leave” Defence.

I recently had the privilege of being part of the Strength in Transition Research Project for women who have served in the ADF, and it stirred up more than I expected, especially in the lead up to ANZAC Day.

I discharged from active duty in February 2000 (yes, I'm that old) before moving on to study Sport Science and then Physiotherapy. And while my life moved forward, the truth is… I don’t think I really left the ADF back then.

Like many, my connection to Defence didn’t end with my own service. As a Defence spouse, I continued to live that life with the interstate moves, the uncertainty, the stretches of holding things together on the home front.

It wasn’t until my husband discharged 24 years later that it began to feel like I was actually stepping away.

And even then, it's taken another year to truly feel like we've left.

The reminders are still scattered around the home, with old hats, boots, memorabilia and and even this amazing artwork that my niece created. They're all gentle reminders of places I've called home, the people I've met along the way, and the experiences that molded me in to who I am today.

It’s made me think about the many layers of service that exist beyond what we traditionally recognise.

We don’t often talk about the ongoing service of Defence members, let alone their spouses, and how much is carried quietly, without recognition, often without the same supports.

As ANZAC Day approaches, this feels important to acknowledge.

Service doesn’t always end when the uniform comes off.

And sometimes, it was never just one person serving to begin with 🤍

🌺 Thank you to all who have served, in your own unique way.

I appreciate you all.

Health looks different for everyone.

Some people I see are chasing PBs or getting back into the gym. Some are recovering from injury. Others just want to get through the day without pain, or pick up their kids without thinking twice.

It all matters. And all of it counts.

As a physio, I’m not here for perfect posture or “ideal” movement. I’m here for your version of feeling better. Whatever that looks like for you right now.

So whether you’re moving more, resting more, or just starting to pay attention to your body again… you’re on the right track.

That’s health too 🤍

Happy World Health Day

⚽️ Winter is coming… and so is winter sport season!

I'm excited to watch my boys get back on the field, chasing goals, dodging tackles, and having a blast.

As a mum, I know that my kids (man-children these days) probably cringe at the constant reminders about warm-ups, stretching, hydration and movement prep, but as a physio, I just can't help myself.

Consider this your gentle reminder to keep the little things as a solid part of your movement routine... because the little things, done consistently, can keep bodies feeling good so the fun doesn’t stop. And if you'd like help developing strategies that best suit you, I'd love to help.

Here’s to a safe, strong, and enjoyable season for all the players out there! 🏈⚽

Lotje McDonald Sports Photography, eternal thanks for capturing this moment 🙌

Just made a fresh batch of elderberry syrup 🌿✨

One of the simple ways I like to support myself and my family through the colder months.

Why elderberry?
Because it’s rich in antioxidants and we love it as part of a gentle winter wellness routine to support immune health and overall wellbeing 🤍

We have allergies to deal with in our household, so I love knowing exactly what goes into it, and honestly… it feels a little grounding to return to these simple, seasonal rituals each year.

Gotta say the family doesn't think much of the lingering aroma though 🤣

Next on the list: fire cider vinegar 🔥
That one takes a little more patience as it needs 6–8 weeks to infuse. My current stash is running low, so it’s time to start another batch.

Sometimes supporting our health looks less like big dramatic changes… and more like small, intentional things done consistently 🌿

A little gentle nudge for any mums (and mums-to-be) who’ve been thinking about joining 🤍

Classes begin next Monday 13th April, and there are just a few spaces remaining in the upcoming pregnancy group.

To make sure you feel supported from the very beginning, you will need to complete a complimentary screening session before classes start. This is a chance to connect, understand your body, and make sure the program is right for you.

If it’s been on your mind, this is a lovely time to step in and give yourself that space 🤍

Reach out if you’d like to chat or secure one of the final spots ✨
