What an incredible final day of our Melbourne Community Group STA 💙🏙️

Yesterday was Day 3 of our STA adventure and the group made the most of every moment, with more opportunities to explore new places, build confidence, and experience everything Melbourne has to offer.

The day started with a visit to ACMI, where participants enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits and creative displays 🎮🎬 We then caught up with our Assist Sunday Group from Sale for an exciting afternoon at the Melbourne Aquarium 🐠🐧 There was so much to see and explore, and everyone loved discovering the amazing marine life and exhibits throughout the aquarium.

We also enjoyed a group lunch together at Southgate Food Court before heading back to our accommodation for our final night in Melbourne ❤️

Today our group are on their way home to Sale after an amazing weekend filled with new experiences, social connection, independence building, laughter, and memories that will last long after the trip has finished.

Our Community Group STAs are designed to provide meaningful community-based experiences while also giving carers a well-deserved break. They are a fantastic alternative to traditional facility-based respite, focusing on inclusion, adventure, confidence building, and real-life experiences in the community 🌏✨

If you or your loved one has STA/Respite funding and would like to learn more about our group adventures and upcoming trips, we’d love to hear from you

Day 2 of our Melbourne Community Group STA was one to remember! 🏙️✨

Yesterday the group explored the iconic Queen Victoria Market, taking in all the sights, sounds, and atmosphere while experiencing something new together. From browsing the market stalls to trying different foods and enjoying the busy city environment, it was a fantastic opportunity for social connection, confidence building, and creating new experiences. 🛍️🚋

The highlight of the day was definitely our bottomless brunch cruise along the Yarra River 🚤🥂 — plenty of laughs, sightseeing, and beautiful Melbourne views along the way.

We wrapped up a huge day with burgers, pizza, and good company at My Goodness on Lonsdale 🍔🍕❤️

These weekends are all about building independence, friendships, community participation, and making memories that last well beyond the trip itself.

Today we’re looking forward to meeting up with the Assist Sunday Group to explore the Melbourne Aquarium together

What an incredible start to our Melbourne Weekend Away! 🚆✨

Yesterday our Community Group Respite crew headed off on a big adventure to Melbourne. After a long trip down, we stopped for lunch before jumping on the train into the city — an experience that brought plenty of excitement, laughs, and new memories along the way. 🏙️

These weekends are about so much more than just giving carers a well-deserved break (although that’s incredibly important too ❤️). They’re about building community connections, encouraging social interaction, developing independence and life skills, and creating opportunities to experience new things in a safe and supportive environment.

Today the group is off to explore the iconic Queen Victoria Market before enjoying a bottomless brunch cruise along the Yarra River 🍔 🚤

Tomorrow we’ll be meeting up with our Sunday group from Sale for a fun day at the Melbourne Aquarium followed by lunch together 🐠🐧

We love seeing friendships grow, confidence build, and participants making the most of every opportunity. Stay tuned for more photos and updates from our weekend away! 📸

✨ What an incredible night at our 3rd Allabilities Disco on Friday night! ✨

We are still smiling after seeing everyone dancing up a storm, laughing, connecting, and having an absolute ball at our Masquerade Ball themed disco! 🪩🎭

A HUGE congratulations to our trophy winners:
🏆 Best Dancer
🏆 Best Mask
🏆 Best Dressed

You all brought so much fun, creativity, and energy to the night!

We would also like to give a massive shout out to Gippsland Trophy House for their generous donation of the trophies. Your support helped make the night extra special for our winners, and we are so grateful for your kindness and community spirit. ❤️

To our amazing volunteers — thank you! Events like these simply would not be possible without the people who generously give up their time to help create such a welcoming, inclusive, and fun environment for everyone.

Thank you also to Bundy Hall for providing such an amazing and beautifully maintained facility. It is always a pleasure to host our events in such a fantastic space.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who attended on Friday night. Seeing the joy, confidence, friendships, and happiness on the dance floor is exactly why we do this. 💃🕺

A special thank you goes out to all the families and carers who dedicate so much of themselves to supporting their loved ones and helping them get out into the community to enjoy events like these. Your support means the world and does not go unnoticed. ❤️

This was our 3rd disco, and we are learning and growing with every event so we can continue making them bigger and better each time. We would absolutely love to keep running these regularly for our community!

Now we need YOUR help… 👀
