Gippsland Specialist Clinic is looking for a new team member!

We are currently looking for an experienced medical receptionist to provide reception and administrative support to out specialists on a part time basis.

Duties Include:
• Manage patient bookings and doctors scheduling, ensure that consulting sessions are organised
• Theatre scheduling
• Billing and Claims (Medicare & Private Health)
• Meet and greet and answering high volume of incoming calls
• Administrative support to the Practice Manager
• Ensure there is clear communication between the doctors and their patients
• Responsible for seeing tasks through to completion
• Sole responsibility for certain tasks within the practice

Skills and Attributes:
• The successful candidate will be reliable, show initiative, be enthusiastic and self-motivated
• Show high attention to detail
• High standard of organisation and time management skills
• Be confident in providing high level patient care
• Demonstrate a naturally positive and optimistic approach to work
• Ability to both follow instruction and show initiative
• Utilise excellent communication skills both written and verbal, confident interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in a similar role is essential (preferably in Gynaecology/Obstetrics)

During this time our Doctors will not be available for contact or scripts. If you or your child is requiring a script please make an appointment with your GP.

April is PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) Awareness month. I see many of my patients suffering from debilitating PMDD symptoms affecting their lives! Raising awareness is important, as this is not a “mental health illness” as is often considered!

This PMD Awareness month, it is crucial to spread the word: PMDD is real. And no, it's not just another word for PMS. Not even close. 💙

So for those of you who can't believe how crazy long and awful your 'PMS' is, you may want to consider learning about PMDD. 💙

While as many as 80% of women and AFAB individuals experience PMS, 2-8% (average of 5.5%) suffer from PMDD, or Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. Despite being directly connected to the menstrual cycle, PMDD is NOT a hormone imbalance. 💙

Rather, PMDD is a severe negative reaction in the brain to the natural rise and fall of estrogen and progesterone. With challenging clusters of mood symptoms, the luteal phase for many women and AFAB individuals can range from mild to moderate to absolutely debilitating for most menstrual cycles throughout the year. 💙

Far too many continue to suffer, having no idea that there's actually a name for their pain. And this is precisely why awareness is so important. Awareness offers the opportunity for support and treatment. Awareness saves lives. Awareness sparks change! So please, share this post with someone you care about today. 💙
