HealthLinks Gippsland (formerly East Gippsland Osteo

pathic Clinic) was established in Orbost in 1998 by principal practitioner Dr Belinda Coulton. In 2007 Dr Patrick Callanan joined the practice bringing over 15 years of clinical experience. In 2009 the practice expanded and opened a clinic in Sale, with a clinic opening in Bairnsdale in 2016 and another in Traralgon in September 2017. We have moved into our own premises in Bairnsdale in 2020 and Traralgon in 2021, then expanded to Yarram in 2021. We rebranded as HealthLinks Gippsland in January 2023.

On Saturday, Dr Mitchell attended the Baseball Victoria’s Winter State Championship to provide first aid and osteopathic support to the U15 participants from around Victoria!

Mitchell helped support osteosportsnetwork so that the competitors had access to any sports training or first aid needs.

The End of an Era 🎉🍾

Today marks the end of an era for our osteopath Dr Belinda Coulton.

After more than 34 years running small businesses, it’s time for Belinda to officially hand over the day-to-day operations of HealthLinks Gippsland. But not to fear, Dr Belinda will still be treating all her wonderful patients 💪

Belinda first ventured into business with colleague Dr David Parker at Kew Osteopathic Clinic. In 1998, she launched her own practice, the East Gippsland Osteopathic Clinic (EGOC), as a solo practitioner. From the outset, her dream was clear: to bring osteopathy to as many people across Gippsland as possible—and it’s fair to say that dream has come true.

EGOC expanded across the region with clinics in Bairnsdale, Sale, Yarram, Traralgon, and Trafalgar. Over the years, many talented osteopaths and locums have worked within these clinics, each contributing to the heart and soul of EGOC and HealthLinks.

In 2019, EGOC was honoured with a Gippsland Business Award for Excellence in Health Services. In 2020–2021, Belinda was named Osteopath of the Year. Her dedication to osteopathy has been unwavering, having treated tens of thousands of patients—including thousands of babies—throughout her career.

Belinda has also played a significant role as a mentor and teacher, supporting many osteopaths at the start of their careers, and welcoming other small businesses to operate within EGOC clinics. She has continually sought ways to grow and improve through countless business conferences and learning opportunities.

Though Belinda is stepping back from managing HealthLinks Gippsland, she will continue to treat patients at the Sale, Traralgon, and Orbost clinics. As she takes a well-earned rest from operations, a new era begins under the leadership of Dr Mitchell Evans.

We wish Dr Mitchell and his team every success, and Belinda all the very best for her future plans and the exciting next chapter ahead.

We’re excited to announce that our highly valued Healthy Ageing Program (HAP) has been extended through to 2027 🎇

This extension will cover our Baw Baw, Latrobe and East Gippsland Communities!

For over two years, our Commonwealth-funded and Gippsland Primary Health Network-supported program has helped Gippsland residents aged 65 and over to stay independent, mobile, strong, and balanced.

HAP is designed to promote physical well-being and social connection, and the program has already made a significant impact across our communities.

With this extension, even more local 65+ year olds will have the opportunity to benefit from exercise classes, supporting healthy and active ageing.

Our HealthLinks Gippsland team meet monthly to continue our learning and growth ensuring our team continues to be able to provide excellence in osteopathy and healthcare

Whether it’s learning about pain, working on techniques, or looking at current research, our team will always continue to grow as practitioners!

Today we had our very own Dr Georgia, delve into the world of visceral anatomy and assessment/treatment, after she attended a course recently this year!

It’s always fantastic to catch up with everyone and continue to learn and/or consolidate information about the human body!

A big congratulations and well done to Dr Josh Upskilling in Dry Needling

Josh has further enhanced his clinical toolkit by completing his Level 1 Dry Needling certification.

This qualification allows Josh to offer dry needling as an adjunct therapy within his osteopathic treatments, giving patients more options during their appointments.

Dry needling may help relieve muscle tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility. It complements hands-on osteopathic techniques and may assist in helping you reach your treatment goals.

If you're interested in dry needling, feel free to ask one of our HLG osteopaths—or Josh himself—whether it may be suitable for your specific aches, pains, or injuries.
