I trained at The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and am also a qualified Art Therapist. My aim is to support people to help themselves by building inner resources, resilience, self-compassion and self-trust. I work with people with sub-clinical issues, including anxiety, shyness, low confidence, exam-stress, chronic pain, IBS, menopause symptoms, low mood, habits and addictions and much more. My approach is tailored to individuals, understanding that every person is unique. I draw mostly from my CBH and Art Therapy training as well as continued professional development in psychology and TEAM CBT. It is important to me to keep up to date with the current research in psychology and neuroscience. Similarly, I am committed to continued professional development and study in hypnosis and hypnotherapy. In my practice I also draw upon a wealth of knowledge gleaned over 20 years as a full-time international performing artist, based in the UK and EU for most of that time. I have also lived in New York and San Francisco. I know first-hand the difficulties of being pulled in many directions, of transition and adapting to change, work-life balance, the highs and lows of parenting and relationships. I retrained in hypnotherapy after the birth of my daughter and my experience with Hypnobirthing. I saw, and continue to see, the profoundly effective applications of hypnosis and how this could be woven into my previous training. Combining hypnosis with CBT in an empathic, human-centred way, I have discovered the way to work that I truly love, which is not strictly adherent to only one theoretical model. I have a strong belief in the importance of human connection, movement and creativity, and the impact of healthy eating and sleeping habits. Not to mention being able to relax when you need to and focus when you need to do that. Training:
