We are delighted to welcome Asta Rowbottom to the Gregory Street Psychology team. Asta is a provisionally registered psychologist having completed her Masters in Professional Psychology at the University of Tasmania. Asta works with clients of all ages, and has a keen interest in working with children and adolescents. As a provisional psychologist, Asta is still under the close supervision of a senior clinical psychologist - two brains are better than one! When not working one-on-one with clients, Asta is engaged in therapy planning, research and supervision, so her clients can expect high-quality tailored care.
We charge a low out-of-pocket fee for service to see a provisional psychologist. Clients are not limited in the number of sessions they can access, and they do not require a MHCP to access their services. Sessions are therefore affordable for clients who do not want to seek a Medicare rebate, or may not be eligible for one. Additionally, our provisional psychologists have a short wait time meaning quicker access to treatment.

Great news...

The APS is pleased to announce that the 2020 Federal Budget includes a doubling of the number of Medicare-funded psychology sessions for all Australians regardless of location, for an initial 2 year period.

This follows years of APS advocacy for recognition of the importance of access to psychological services. More to come.

We are seeking a professional who can work with clients with a range of different presentations. The position is a sub-contracting position and would suit someone happy to start with a smaller caseload in the short-term and build up over time.
