❤️💛 Red & Yellow Day is coming to Waratah Beach SLSC 💛❤️
Wednesday 4 March

Our incredible volunteer lifesavers and Marine Rescue team give their time to keep our beaches, waterways safe.

On Red & Yellow Day we are celebrating them and we would love our Sandy Point and Waratah Beach community to get involved.

Here is how you can support Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club:

❤️ Wear red and yellow to work, school or around town
💛 Fly the flags at home or at your business
❤️ Host a morning tea and start the conversation about beach safety
💛 Donate or volunteer to support your local lifesaving club
❤️ Take the pledge to always swim between the flags

Every show of support helps us continue protecting our beaches and waterways and supporting our local community.

On Saturday we celebrated the wonderful women that are in not only our organisation but the contributions of females to the lifesaving movement statewide!

We are proud at Waratah to have so many fantastic women in our club from our President to our Club Captains, our Patrol Captains to our Nipper coordinators, our Chief Instructors to our Finance director, Age managers to Board members and so many more.

We are proud of where we are and what we will continue growing into over coming years!

Well done to Vice Club Captain Jack Kennedy who last week completed Surf Life Saving Australia’s National Leadership College in Sydney!

Leaders within lifesaving from all across Australia, New Zealand and Japan came together as a part of the annual program to grow and develop themselves as leaders but also help shape the future for their clubs and the organisation.

Learning from inspirational people far and wide from Australians of the year, to olympians, and to the CEO and President of SLSA, the week really allows members to network and grow within surf life saving.

Jack joins a number of past Waratah members who have also completed this program and no doubt will bring a lot back to Waratah in the future!

Well done

He’s done it again!!

Well done to Life Member Max Collins who yesterday completed his bronze medallion in full AGAIN at the Elwood LSC.

Max first completed his bronze at Anglsea in 1963, the same year that the Waratah Beach SLSC was established and after letting it lapse in recent years has gone back to re-achieve it!!

Max has held most roles at the Waratah Beach SLSC and is one of our earliest life members. Max is also one of the longest standing surf sports officials, nearing 50 years of service to the sport.

Amazing effort Max, we love what you do!!

🩷PINK PATROL🩷

We wish to invite all patrolling club members, age managers, nippers, female club members and all champions of women to our annual Pink Patrol event!

We will be starting the day at 9am on the beach with a board paddling skills session run by one of our club captains, Sunday. This will be a great chance for all members from nipper age to adult bronzies to build some confidence and catch great waves.

At approximately 11am, there will be a brunch in the bar area with some grazing boards, scones and sweet treats on offer. Any donations of food would be much appreciated!

Patrol will begin at 1pm with our female-led patrol being captained by Director of Operations, Sarah.

To finish the night, patrol dinner will be served for a small cost.

If you are able to make it, please RSVP via the form so we can account for numbers.
