SKILLS MAINTENANCE SESSION THIS SATURDAY!

How to book:
1. Ensure you have renewed your membership via the SLS Hub
2. Via the sis hub, click applications > ELearning to access the Member training portal
3. Book into a skills maintenance practical session

There will be additional requal sessions added so please keep an eye out!

Today is the last day to register for our December Bronze course as it is just around the corner running from Monday the 15th to Saturday the 20th of December 2025.

From water safety to BBQs, set-up, pack-up and Age Manager support – we simply can’t run Nippers without your help.

If you haven’t yet signed up for a volunteer role, please take a moment to do so.

Ready to ride the current?

The Current Cruiser is one of the highlights of summer at Sandy Point – a fun, friendly swim event for all ages and abilities.

Choose from the 500m or 1500m swim, starting at the Shallow Inlet beach carpark and finishing back toward Waratah Beach. Every swimmer in the main events receives an event t-shirt and swim cap.

Whether you’re racing, challenging yourself, or just love being part of a great community day on the water, the Current Cruiser is the perfect way to kick off the season.

All proceeds support Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club and our volunteer lifesavers.

Looking for spare fake grass

Hi everyone, we’re putting the call out to see if anyone has some spare fake grass tucked away, or knows where we can get our hands on some for this season. The back area behind the club is currently a charming blend of sand and dirt — perfect for the beach, not so perfect when we end up tracking half of it back through the club.

We’ve got grand plans for a proper upgrade next year, but right now we just need a temporary fix to get us through the season. If you’ve got any turf offcuts, an old roll gathering dust, or a lead on second-hand grass, please reach out at info@waratahbeach.com.au.

You’ll be helping us keep the club tidy, make trading smoother, and stop the boat wash-down area from looking like a mud wrestling arena. Thanks for helping us keep the sand where it belongs.

Get ready to dive in!

The Current Cruiser Swim Events are back for another great year at Sandy Point.
Both the 500m and 1500m swims will commence from the Shallow Inlet beach carpark, with swimmers making their way back toward the finish line.

All 500m and 1500m participants receive an event t-shirt and swim cap.

After the swims, join us at the Waratah Beach SLSC Clubhouse for presentations and celebrations.

Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting Waratah Beach Surf Life Saving Club and the work we do to keep our community safe.

Come along, take part, or cheer from the sidelines – it’s always a fantastic day at the beach.

Interested in taking the next step in lifesaving?

Our Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) Camp is back for the 2025/26 season, running from 2–5 January 2026 at Waratah Beach.

The SRC gives young members the skills and confidence to begin patrolling, including:
• surf awareness
• basic rescue techniques
• first aid
• team-based lifesaving skills
• an introduction to real patrol operations

It’s the perfect pathway for Nippers ready to progress and start making a real contribution on the beach.
