I would imagine that a lot of parents sign their children up to a ballet class at 2yrs old for the ‘cute factor’ and perhaps along the way discover that their child displays some enthusiasm and talent for the art and wish to see where it can take them.

In today’s world, I have noticed that true commitment and respect is a fading value, and the old school teacher hat I sometimes wear really wants to encourage a return to this, and ballet is a perfect vehicle.

The cygnet program has been created with this goal in mind, to show aspiring ballerinas what they can achieve, for themselves, with a commitment to self, the class and their teacher.

(And…Neat and tidy uniform, not only looks aesthetic it also kickstarts a positive mindset)

Term 4 begins next Tuesday and its performance term! An email will be sent to students enrolled for term 4 this evening, with info regarding our recital, costume ideas and what to expect from classes. If you do not receive an email it is because you have not enrolled/re-enrolled. Registration will close on Monday 20th October, closing our classes off to new students until 2026.

🌱With this delicious spring weather, we’ve had an influx of enquiries for new bambino students - thank you!

Our classes are designed to hold a group of students for term of storytelling, team building and progressive exercises therefore our cut off for enrolments is by close of week 2, giving all students the safety of knowing what to expect of the term ahead (sometimes it can get a little overwhelming starting mid term)

As the teacher it also gives me an idea of how to cater to the group from the beginning, each class is bespoke and planned specifically for the dynamics of the little people.

I think there is a misconception about our classes being ‘casual and drop in’ - unfortunately this is not the case, all students must be registered ahead of time and the only ‘casual’ aspect is the fee payment, once you’ve purchased your class pass, it only gets debited when you come to class (you aren’t paying for missed or cancelled classes) and they don’t have an expiry date AND can be transferable to a sibling or a bestie if you aren’t continuing on with classes.

🩰If you are hoping to trial a class with a view to start next term, the only class times I can cater for are:
Friday 1-3yrs at 10am
and 3-4yrs at 10:30am

It can’t be easy for the children of the director, their mum having to divide herself between bouts of encouragement, snack time , scheduling, showtime logistics and trusting that while she is mic’d up to stage management that costume and makeup will get done at some point!

These 2 blow me away and I’m so proud to be doing IT ALL and also being able fold into my comfort (them) and debrief with honesty, love and appreciation - their EQ is off the charts, who knows maybe it has something to do with being brought up in the creative arts, learning the language of compassion and genuine excitement? I’m not sure, but I do know I’m one lucky mama

But also how awesome was max on the merch table today! He loves being left to his own devices and being trusted with big tasks!
