NSW restrictions
An update from the NSW Government in relation to organising a loved ones funeral.

NSW is no longer under lockdown. However, there are different rules for people who are fully vaccinated and those who are not fully vaccinated.

Funerals and memorial services can have no more than 1 person per 4 square metres indoors and 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors.
You can eat and drink while standing.
You can attend a funeral or memorial service anywhere in NSW.

If you are not fully vaccinated, you can only attend a small funeral or memorial service. No more than 10 people can attend. This doesn’t include the person conducting the service and any others required for its conduct.

You must be seated to eat and drink.

New regulations as of Monday 11th October 2021

Under the new Public Health Order a maximum of 100 vaccinated people may attend a funeral, memorial service or gathering afterwards. If the service is held indoors the 4 square metre rule must be adhered to and will impact the number of people able to attend.

If an unvaccinated person attends a funeral or memorial service or gathering afterwards the maximum number of people able to attend is 10.

Losing someone you love is the hardest thing in the world to deal with. To say farewell is part of the grieving process.

Due to Covid, numbers are limited at services and a live stream has helped loved ones to say goodbye.

Numbers will increase from 10 to 50 when the Upper Hunter Shire is released from lockdown.
