With close to 20 years of fitness background, initially in personal training and group class, Joanna Ng, founder of Reform Pilates says Pilates seems to be the prescription to numerous types of injuries she saw in the gym. Joanna’s approach to rehab includes the use of various stretch and release techniques, deep tissue massage therapy and myofascial release techniques. Combined with specific joint movements of Pilates and Gyrotonic, she has rehab hundreds of clients. It includes her own recovery from an imbalance back problem and a torn knee meniscus. Treatment for the former is still on-going. She is a certified fitness trainer with American Council on Exercise (ACE) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a personal trainer with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Trained as a flexibility technician with Maximum Performance International and a certified myofascial release therapist with Stanborough Professionals, she is also a fully certified teacher trainer with PhyscialMind Institute of New York.
