Pre Event Massage 💪 Melbourne Mara runners we're talking to you !

A sports massage before an event is designed to prepare your body and mind for peak performance. It increases blood flow, warms up the muscles, improves flexibility, and activates the nervous system—all of which help reduce the risk of injury and enhance movement efficiency. Pre-event massage also helps calm the mind, improve focus, and boost confidence, making it an effective way to support both physical readiness and mental preparation.

This is designed to be done 1-3 days prior to your event.

A pre-event sports massage differs from a regular myotherapy appointment in both focus and intensity. While myotherapy typically targets injury treatment, chronic pain, and postural issues using deeper, corrective techniques, a pre-event massage is shorter, more stimulating, and performance-focused. It aims to prepare the muscles for activity rather than release deep tension, using faster, lighter movements to enhance circulation, flexibility, and readiness without causing fatigue or soreness

Tips from the vid:
1. Step it out, knee tracks over ankle
2. Back knee drops straight down, not forward
3. Hips stay square – no twisting!
4. Chest up, eyes forward, breathe through the burn
