Another reason why I love our yoga community and sessions.
It is not just about the movements.
Our sessions are very layered (of some which you aren't aware of but you allow) .
You trust and allow things to flow through your moves, laughter and on occasions tears. Through what you share and bring.
You listen, you support and you check in with each other xx
Thank 🙏 You
When women vent to each other, they’re not just bonding they’re literally calming each other’s biology
Turns out that late-night rants, kitchen-table tears, or midday vent sessions between women are more than emotional support they’re physiological therapy. According to scientific research, when women open up and share their stress with other women, it activates something called social buffering a biological response that literally lowers levels of cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone.
This reaction is part of what scientists refer to as the “tend-and-befriend” response. When women connect emotionally, the brain releases oxytocin the so-called “love hormone” which calms the nervous system, promotes trust, and reduces the body’s stress response. It’s not just about feeling better it’s about functioning better, at a cellular level. So yes, grabbing coffee with your best friend or calling your sister after a long day? That’s not a luxury it’s hormonal regulation with heart.
These findings underscore the incredible power of human connection especially among women. Talking it out doesn’t just lighten the emotional load; it literally rewires your stress. In a world that often undervalues emotional expression, this research proves that shared vulnerability isn’t a weakness it’s a biologically backed superpower. 💬🧠💖
