We had a lot of fun at the Source Disability Expo last weekend at the Adelaide Convention Centre 😊

Members from our Better Self Speech Pathology team and colleagues at Elcies Positive Behaviour Support enjoyed meeting families over the weekend and speaking with them about the services offered at Lutheran Care.

It was also a great opportunity to see what other services and supports are out there in the community. Thanks to everyone that dropped by!

Some members of our Positive Behaviour Support team and colleagues from Better Self attended the Kids and Youth Disabilities Expo (KYD-X) last Friday and Saturday 😊

Held at Netball SA Stadium, this event gave us the opportunity to speak with more than 200 individuals/families about how our PBS and Speech Pathology services can support them.

It was also great to see Lutheran Care Clinical Leads Dr Jessica Howe and Dr Michelle Swift participating in a Q&A on the main stage on Friday, speaking about their areas of expertise.

Thanks to the organisers for putting on a wonderful event 🙏

Come and say hi to our Positive Behaviour Support team and colleagues from Better Self at the Kids and Youth Disabilities Expo (KYD-X) this Friday and Saturday!

Held at Netball SA Stadium, this free event gives you the opportunity to talk with over 100 businesses showcasing their services and innovative products for families, children and young people.

It’s a great day out for the whole family where there’s plenty of fun entertainment, interactive sports, animal displays, but also a sensory space and quiet room.

On Friday, Lutheran Care Clinical Leads Dr Jessica Howe and Dr Michelle Swift will be talking on the main stage at 12.45pm, participating in a Q&A on Positive Behaviour Support and Speech Pathology.

Our Positive Behaviour Support team and colleagues from Better Self Speech Pathology had a wonderful time at the DAL Expo on Friday and Saturday 😊

Held every year, the DAL Expo is Adelaide’s premier event for disability, ageing and lifestyle.

We're packing the car, and getting ready to head down to the showgrounds and set up for the DAL Expo ... Will we see you there?

We are Elcies, which is proudly part of Lutheran Care.
In fact, our name comes from Lutheran Care's initials... LC = Elcies!

Our team provides Positive Behaviour Support to people of all ages, from young children through to older adults, who live across Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. We'd love to help you live your possibilities by finding out what matters most to you, and co-designing with you a plan to get you there.

"Nothing about me without me".

At Elcies, our Positive Behaviour Support workers partner with you, your family, and your support team to understand what matters most to you.

This could be things like:

👉 Feeling safe and calm at home, school, or in the community.
👉 Building independence in daily routines (e.g. making breakfast, getting ready for work or school).
👉 Reducing frustration by using alternative or augmentative communication (AAC, visuals, signs, etc).
👉 Developing skills to manage transitions or unexpected changes.
👉 Increasing participation in education, work, or hobbies.
👉 Ensuring staff, family, and peers understand what helps you thrive.

Together, we design, or 'co-design' a plan that lays a path toward achieving these goals, with you at the centre!

We look forward to finding out what makes you tick, and helping find ways for you to be more independent whilst doing the things you enjoy.
