Shining Wellness Ayurveda and Yoga Using the principles of ayurveda and yoga, Cara loves assisting people in connecting to their healing power and the divinity within themselves. Hi, I’m Cara.

Cara is passionate about heart-centred living and deepening our connection to nature. I remember when I was 16 years old, sitting on my bed and feeling this great emptiness in my heart. Like there was something really obvious that I was missing that others seemed to have. I thought the answer laid in something outside of me, that someone or something external to me would fill the gap in my heart. I felt like I was living from my head rather than my heart or being fully in my body. I journeyed for many years in this way, trying to find something or someone that would fill that gap. Eventually through yoga and meditation I awakened to the truth that what I was seeking was already inside of me! Through working with my heart, I began to tap into its divinity and sacred spaces like unlimited love, gratitude, truth, peace and joy. Over the years, this has deepened, and I now feel a greater connection to myself, to others and to the richness of all life. It brings me great joy to be able to share with you, in this simple form, all that I have learned from the heart over the last 20 years. As a meditation and yoga teacher, self-inquiry facilitator, pranic healer and ayurvedic practitioner, I am passionate about the importance of being true to ourselves and living from our heart. I love to work with people who want to deepen their connection to themselves and others, and who crave to live wholeheartedly in their own truth. Living our truest and most divine selves inside the physical body is such a wonderful gift. Life is here to be experienced so why not make it a fun and expansive journey! About Shining Wellness...

What I love about Ayurveda is that it offers a holistic approach that treats the whole individual rather than just the imbalance. In an initial consultation a person's unique constitution is determined, allowing their individualised treatment to be developed. Ayurveda also includes yoga as one of its therapies. Yoga is not only the physical postures done in the class, it also includes many elements like pranayama (breathing techniques), self-awareness and focus with the goal of deep meditation. With the fast pace of life and many people feeling stressed and suffering from anxiety and depression, Cara of Shining Wellness, incorporates her knowledge of Ayurveda into the yoga classes as well as techniques to assist in the relaxation of the body and mind. Last week, my daughter Thea started 3 year old kinder. 💜It felt like quite a lead up to it and I was a little anxious about how it would go.
At her first drop off, she started playing, Marcus and I said goodbye 👋🏻 and off we went. Just like that. She was so happy to be there. The nervousness was all me! When I got to the car, I had a big cry. She’s growing up!
I’m so grateful It went so smoothly and at the same time grateful I was teaching yoga that morning as a welcome distraction. 😆

Today, I find myself feeling bubbles of creative inspiration arising within. I feel excited for this new chapter and grateful for the space to be able to offer more Ayurvedic, meditation and yoga services.

Inspired by a chat with a dear friend, I felt to share this meditation.

In this meditation, we invite a deeper connection to our higher self, inner self or divinity within (which ever resonates for you) to hold us in love and compassion. This could be especially helpful if you are going through a challenging time or even to support you in your day-to-day life. It can be easy to feel alone at times so this meditation serves as a reminder that we are never alone and to find peace (even just a little) in this knowing and in this love.

I've found a new love for chair yoga. With its gentle movements and breath awareness, there can be found such presence and calm.

I've been inspired to create a few chair yoga classes to share. Here is a 10 minute practice designed to get the body moving and energy flowing for your day!

One of the things I love about ayurveda is the reminder of the power and simplicity of living in sync with the rhythms of nature and how that in turn creates a greater sense of harmony within, supporting our health and wellbeing.

Just as the elements of nature move and shift with the seasons so do we.

So I'm excited to be running a talk at Rowville Libary on this very topic!

In this session, which is based on ayurvedic medicine, you’ll learn how your digestion naturally changes throughout the year and how eating seasonally can support your body to adjust to these changes, creating a greater sense of health and vitality. Discover which foods are naturally available during each season and how to best utilise them to support your health and wellbeing.
