GTK is proud to sponsor the 2026 Australian Pro Adaptive Surfing Championships, happening from the 22nd to 29th of March in Byron Bay!

Athletes from all over the world will take on the waves, showcasing incredible skill and determination as they compete with paralysis, limited mobility, and vision impairments. This is Australia’s only international adaptive surfing championship and part of a global tour with stops in Hawaii and California.

Big day at GTK Ballina today.

This morning we kicked off with Introduction to Supported Lying, a hands-on, side-by-side exploration of supported lying systems, all set up and ready to trial. We compared features, talked sleep quality, tone and posture, NDIS goal alignment, outcome measures and real-world case examples… and most importantly, built confidence in selecting the right solution for each client.

This afternoon was all about getting practical with Adjust & Align: Getting to Grips with Tools. Therapists rolled up their sleeves to explore:
✔️ When you can adjust a wheelchair or seating component yourself (and when to call the supplier)
✔️ Modify vs replace – clinical reasoning in action
✔️ Which tools to use and when
✔️ Hands-on practice making real adjustments

Ready to take your seating prescription skills to the next level?

Our Advanced Seating Assessment and Prescription workshop is designed to enhance your clinical practice and help you confidently navigate the complexities of seating assessment and prescription.

This immersive workshop will help you:
✔ Master thorough MAT evaluations
✔ Deepen your understanding of biomechanics and seating posture
✔ Translate assessment findings into practical product parameters
✔ Strengthen clinical problem-solving through real case scenarios
✔ Build clinical justification skills for successful funding applications
