✨What a way to end the year.

Last Wednesday marked the official handover of our flagship project - the Matrescence Birthing Centres in Southport, Queensland, a pioneering model of care and the first of its kind in Australia.

From the outset, this project carried a bold ambition: to redefine how women experience birthing and to create a space that supports the full journey of matrescence - identity, confidence, community, and care.

Our visionary client set out to champion a new era of birthing environments and we, the whole team at Perfect Practice, are extremely honoured to have been selected as the design and construction partner, to bring this pioneering facility to life. Delivering an end-to-end D&C solution grounded in clinical excellence, operational precision, and a profoundly human-centred approach.

Every element from flow and safety to colour, comfort, and calm was crafted to elevate the birthing experience and expand community choice.

As Shellandar beautifully shared:
“It’s ready to become a beautiful space for women and offer more community choices for birth.”

This milestone reflected the very best of collaboration, innovation, and our shared purpose.

We are thrilled to share a preview of our upcoming project at Parry Street Family Practice, a modern GP clinic located in the heart of Newcastle.

This project truly reflects family values, shaped by a young couple’s wish to care for their patients and staff with the same warmth they offer in their own home. Joyful yet grounded colours, textured finishes, natural light, and a hint of coastal ease come together to create a space that feels welcoming, uplifting, and full of life.

Our team recently welcomed guests for an exclusive preview of the Perth Day Hospital.

The event highlighted how a truly collaborative process - driven by thoughtful design, technical precision, and stakeholder engagement - shaped this state-of-the-art facility.

With support from Kate Manser, Strategic Partnership Manager, and the Perfect Practice team, we were pleased to welcome healthcare and industry professionals, giving them the chance to experience the space firsthand and creating valuable opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and explore ways to advance healthcare environments across Australia.

A walk-through tour of the facility allowed our guests to see the attention to detail, design intent, and rigorous quality standards that brought this project to life.

Our Interior Designer, Darcy Miller shared the story behind the design evolution and the many iterations that shaped the final outcome. This was followed by a technical overview from our Senior Architect, Jeevan Krishnan who highlighted key engineering elements - including the LARU-designed facility, a critical component in meeting stringent safety and compliance requirements.

We’re delighted to celebrate the handover of Your Paediatrician - a space designed to bring comfort, calm, and a touch of joy to young patients and their families.

Working with Dr. Sathah Sivabalan, our team brought to life a vision centred around warmth and care using soft curves, gentle pastels, and playful details that capture the heart of paediatric design.

⚒️ Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Construction Milestone

It’s been a busy few months in Midland, WA, where our team has been hard at work bringing the new Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service (DYHS) facility to life.

Once a farmers market, then a library, and later a dialysis centre - this site’s transformation continues. With trenching, framing, mechanical works, and wall sheeting now complete, we’re well on our way to project completion.

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service is Western Australia’s largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, providing culturally responsive care to more than 20,000 patients across Perth. Guided by strong values, DYHS continues to empower and strengthen the Aboriginal community.

We’re proud to play a small part in helping DYHS continue their vital work - creating a space that reflects their commitment to care, connection, and community.

Our team is currently working closely with Shellanda Eller, Director of Midwifery Services at Matrescence Birthing Centres Gold Coast, to bring to life a space that truly embodies her philosophy - Trusting Women, Honouring Birth.
