Join us for this workshop as Dr Adam (chiropractor) zooms in and chats about building great habits and achieving wellness.
Transform your life through better health and intentions that really stick!

Many of us start each new year with a few goals for the year ahead, but by February, we've lost our way and wondered why we couldn't follow through.

In reality, change is less lofty than we think.

It's the small, day-to-day changes we make that can make the most significant difference. How can we align our goals with our belief systems and structure ways to get there that build habits that actually stick?

Inspired by the best-selling book James Clear's Atomic Habits, we will focus on how the compound effect of small decisions builds new habits each day, creates new brain pathways and can optimise our vitality and function.

In this workshop, Dr Adam (chiropractor) delves into Atomic Habits and demonstrates how building new habits is possible and how they can directly impact your health and your life.

Set yourself on track for a productive, motivated, vital and happy year - no matter what time of year you start!

Sympathetic dominance is important because it keeps the body stuck in a state of constant output rather than balance and recovery. When the nervous system is unable to shift out of this overactive state, essential processes like healing, digestion, sleep, and emotional regulation can become compromised. Over time, this imbalance places extra strain on the body and can contribute to persistent stress-related symptoms. Recognising sympathetic dominance is a key step in supporting long-term nervous system health and overall wellbeing. Because being stuck means being unbalanced, and unwell. Chiropractic care can help with nervous system regulation and an overall state of wellness.

Sympathetic dominance occurs when the body is spending too much time in a state of activation rather than recovery. Instead of smoothly shifting between stress and rest, the nervous system becomes biased toward doing, reacting, and bracing. This can interfere with digestion, sleep, immune function, and the body’s ability to repair and restore itself. Chiropractic care works by supporting proper spinal and nervous system function, helping reduce ongoing neurological stress and creating an environment where the body can access its natural rest, recovery, and regulation processes more easily.

When we’re under constant stress, the body can get stuck in “fight or flight” mode, keeping the nervous system in a heightened state of alert. Over time, this can contribute to muscle tension, fatigue, poor sleep, chronic pain, difficulty relaxing, and many other debilitating symptoms. Chiropractic care aims to reduce tension within the nervous system, which improves communication between the brain and body. As a result, it can help the body regulate stress more effectively, reduce physical tension, support better sleep and relaxation, and ease pain.

Feeling “stuck” in fight-or-flight?

You may be experiencing Sympathetic Dominance, a state where your body’s stress response stays switched on for too long.

In today’s fast-paced world, chronic stress can prevent your nervous system from shifting into “rest-and-digest” mode, keeping your body in constant alert. Over time, this can take a serious toll on your health.

Common signs include:
-Anxiety, irritability, feeling easily startled, difficulty relaxing
-Insomnia or restless sleep
-Neck & shoulder tension, headaches, fatigue
- High blood pressure, increased heart rate, cold hands/feet
-Digestive issues (IBS, constipation/diarrhea)
-Sensitivity to light or sound
-Hormonal imbalances, low immunity, slow healing

What causes it?
• Ongoing stress (work, finances, relationships, constant screen time)
• Poor sleep, nutrition, or inactivity
• Poor posture, spinal stress (especially in the neck), injuries, chronic illness

The good news? Balance can be restored.
✔️ Mindfulness, deep breathing & meditation
✔️ Gentle movement, better sleep habits, reduced screen time
✔️ Supportive nutrition for nervous system health
✔️ Chiropractic care to reduce nerve irritation and improve posture

Your body isn’t broken! It’s overstimulated. With the right support, it can learn to calm down again. 🌿

If this resonates with you, it may be time to listen to your nervous system.

As we step into the new year, here’s something I wish everyone understood about chiropractic care and recovery:
Your spine isn’t the only thing that matters—your nervous system is the hub that connects everything. When it feels safe and supported, your body can heal and thrive. When it feels threatened, even small movements can feel impossible, and pain can spike out of nowhere. That’s not failure—it’s your system doing its job too well, being overprotective because it doesn’t trust that it’s safe yet.
So recovery isn’t just about adjustments or exercises. It’s about retraining your nervous system to trust you again. That means leaning into small wins, experimenting, being curious about your body, and giving yourself patience like it’s your job.

This is where the 5 Pillars of Health come in:
✔️Think Well – Your mindset shapes your healing. Stress and fear keep your system on high alert.
✔️Move Well – Gentle, consistent movement signals safety and builds confidence.
✔️Eat Well – Nutrition fuels repair and reduces inflammation.
✔️Breathe Well – Breath is the fastest way to calm your nervous system and shift out of threat mode.
✔️Sleep Well – Deep rest is when your body and brain do their best recovery work.

And at the center of it all?
Connect Well—your central nervous system. It’s the pillar that ties everything together. Every adjustment, every mindful breath, every positive thought is a signal to your system: You’re safe. You can let go of the guarding and hyper-vigilance.
As you build habits for the new year, think beyond just exercises. Focus on creating an environment—inside and out—where your nervous system feels supported.
That’s when real healing happens.
