“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.” Brene Brown
Going through a separation is one of life’s toughest challenges. It can be overwhelming, emotional, and at times, feel like a lonely road. But I want to remind you: you are not alone, and healing is possible. Here are some tips that have helped me along the way and may help you navigate through this time with grace, strength, and self-compassion 💛
1. Allow yourself to grieve.
Whether you’re feeling sadness, anger, confusion, or even relief, it’s important to allow yourself to feel these emotions. Grief is a process, and there’s no right or wrong way to experience it. Give yourself the space to heal and don’t rush it.
2. Prioritize self-care.
When life feels chaotic, it’s easy to forget about your own well-being. Taking care of yourself is essential. Whether it’s a long walk, a warm bath, reading your favorite book, or meditating, find moments each day to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.
Also scedule a night out with friends… yep you heard me, get dressed up and put on your dancing shoes. For me this felt so strange at first but once my confidence started to rebuild and i stopped feeling guilty for not being in mum mode, i found myself actually excited for them. 💃
3. Fuel your body with whole foods.
I know it’s hard when the weight of emotions feels like it’s too much, and eating can feel like a challenge. But even when you’re feeling sick to your stomach or low energy, try to nourish your body with whole foods—fruits, vegetables, and nourishing meals that give you energy and help support your body’s natural healing. I personally found eating so hard. Making a smoothie packed with whole foods & a high quality protein powder made it easier. What you put in your body matters. It can help stabilize your mood, boost your energy, and give you the strength to face each day, no matter how hard it may seem.
