Pain doesn’t disappear overnight, but are you looking for the right signs of progress?

Recovery isn’t just about pain intensity. It’s about things like pain becoming less frequent, more localised, and your ability to do more before it starts.

If you’ve been dealing with foot pain that isn’t improving, this is what progress can actually look like.

Laser therapy may fail not because laser doesn't work, but because the devices were not yet powerful enough. Until now. The HIRO TT runs at 3000 watts, increasing effiency and power more than anything I have seen before and what most clinics have access to, and it works at a muscular, tendon, and even nerve level to actually reset how your body heals. I'm one of only two practitioners in Australia using it, and I've watched MS patients move better after a single session and stubborn cases of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy finally turn a corner when nothing else has helped.

If pain has been your normal for too long, watch this first.

Does laser therapy work for foot pain?

Sometimes it’s not the injury, it’s your body’s healing response slowing down. Laser therapy can help restart that process.

Foot pain not improving, no matter how much you rest or stretch?

If you’ve been dealing with heel pain, arch pain, or plantar fasciitis, you might be missing a key part of recovery, the small muscles inside your foot.

In this video, I show you a simple “short foot” exercise to help activate these muscles, support your arch, and reduce pain.

I’m Dr Kent Hungerford, a podiatrist specialising in foot pain that others struggle to treat. If your symptoms haven’t improved despite treatment, this will help you understand why.

Why does pain sometimes stay even after your foot has healed?

In this video, I explain how your brain plays a key role in pain, and why persistent foot pain isn’t always about ongoing damage. Understanding this can change how you approach recovery.

I’m Dr Kent Hungerford, a podiatrist specialising in foot pain that others struggle to treat. If your pain hasn’t improved despite treatment, this will help you understand why.

I cover:
• How pain is created by the brain
• Why pain doesn’t always equal damage
• What happens in chronic or persistent pain
• How stress, sleep, and mindset affect pain

Foot pain not going away, even after rest or treatment? Here’s why.

If your foot pain keeps flaring when you try to get active, the issue is often not doing too much or too little, but finding the right balance. In this video, I explain how to safely rebuild activity using a simple 10% progression rule.

Why does pain exist, and why doesn’t it always make sense?

If you’ve ever wondered why pain can feel severe without obvious injury, or why it sometimes lingers long after tissues have healed, this video explains what’s really going on. Pain is not just a sign of damage, it’s your body’s protective alarm system.

I’m Dr Kent Hungerford, a podiatrist specialising in foot pain that others struggle to treat. In this video, I break down how pain works, why your brain creates it, and why persistent pain doesn’t always mean something is “wrong” structurally.

You’ll learn:
• Why pain exists and what it’s designed to do
• How the brain interprets and creates pain
• Why pain doesn’t always match tissue damage
• What happens in chronic or persistent pain
• How factors like stress and sleep influence pain

This is for you if you:
• Have ongoing or chronic pain
• Feel confused by symptoms that don’t make sense
• Have pain that hasn’t improved despite treatment
• Want to better understand how your body works

Understanding pain is the first step toward reducing it.

A bunionette, also known as a Tailor’s bunion, is a bony prominence that develops on the outside of the foot at the base of the little toe. The name “Tailor’s bunion” originates from the traditional cross-legged sitting position of tailors, which placed pressure on the outer edge of their feet.
Bunionettes typically develop due to a combination of factors, including inherited foot structure, biomechanical abnormalities, and prolonged pressure on the outside of the foot. Wearing tight or ill-fitting footwear can worsen the problem, while changes in foot structure over time and underlying inflammatory or arthritic conditions may also contribute to their formation.
