We recently wrapped up our first Chronic Pain Group in collaboration with Grand Pacific Health — and what a journey it was!

Chronic pain affects 1 in 5 people, and through this free group program, we saw the real power of connection, education, and shared experience in helping people better understand and manage persistent pain.

Over several weeks, participants came together in a warm and supportive space with our provisional psychologist, Zoe, to explore practical strategies, learn about the science of pain, and take steps toward improving their quality of life.

We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to offer this group and to walk alongside such a thoughtful, engaged group of individuals. Thank you to everyone who took part — your openness, strength, and support for one another made it truly special.

We are also very proud of our provisional psychologist, Zoe, who helped facilitate the group and put in countless hours of work behind the scenes to make it happen 💛

We’re thrilled to announce that Tamara has officially become a Clinical Neuropsychologist! 🧠✨

Tamara conducts all of our neuropsychological assessments, with a particular interest in ADHD, ASD, intellectual disabilities, and learning difficulties. She integrates her expertise in assessments with her understanding of brain function and child development to help clients understand the nature of their challenges and empower them with strategies to support their unique needs.

This week also marks Tamara’s second work anniversary with us at The Shellharbour Clinic. We are so proud of her achievement and love having her as part of our team 🥳

As we reflect on NAIDOC Week and its call to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we’re proud to spotlight Fiona Shepperd — psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar at The Shellharbour Clinic.

Fiona has a special interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. She is currently completing a Doctorate (PhD) in Psychology, with a research focus in Indigenous health, and contributes to teaching in Indigenous health studies at the University of Wollongong.

With experience supporting adolescents and adults (ages 16+), Fiona offers a warm, culturally respectful, and evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing on ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, and more.

This week, we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC Week—a milestone honouring the strength, culture, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” recognises the proud legacy of those who came before us and celebrates the rising generation of Indigenous leaders—guided by the wisdom of Elders and grounded in culture, community, and self-determination.

As a practice, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work (Dharawal country) and stand in solidarity with the continued journey toward justice, healing, and respect.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and uplift Indigenous voices—not just this week, but every day.
