CAN YOU HELP?
A wonderful family based in the Illawarra is facing homelessness or the prospect of the family being separated unless a housing solution can be found.
The Darby family are seeking a family home located between Warrawong and Gerringong. Bec Darby has a 14-year old son, Hunter, who has a rare genetic condition which means he is a full time wheelchair user. You can help by contacting us if you know of a property that is available and could be made suitable for the family with a few minor adjustments, or if you are a builder willing to donate a small amount of time and resources to modify an available property and make a massive difference to this family. Comment, message or call us on 1300 018 346 if you can help!

January 26 – Survival Day

Trusted Support Coordination recognises that January 26 is a day of sadness and trauma for the First Nations community.

Today is the anniversary of the initial invasion of this continent, which led to the dispossession of land and disconnection from Country and culture – the effects of which are still impacting First Nations peoples today.

This week, the First Nations community celebrated a HUGE WIN for social justice with the campaign, which has freed up the Aboriginal Flag to be used without permission or fees, in line with the Australian Flag – however, it is important to remember that this does not change the systemic disadvantage that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples face.

We are committed to working with First Nations communities to dismantle the systems that cause continuing oppression and injustice and walk towards an equitable future together.

If you would like to learn more about January 26, Reconciliation Australia, the lead body for reconciliation in Australia, have some incredible resources. Feel free to read more by clicking this link:https://www.reconciliation.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Lets-Talk...January-26.pdf

Let us introduce you to Matt, one of our talented Support Coordinators!

Matt enjoys engaging with and learning about participants as well as being able to assist in making a participant and their family's daily life easier.

Living with disability (Quadriplegia) for nine years and becoming a participant of the NDIS in 2015, Matt was effectively his own Support Coordinator, and so, it was a natural transition when presented with the opportunity to work with us eighteen months ago as a Support Coordinator. It has been a move which has changed both Matt and his family's lives for the better, including achieving one of their dreams of being able to buy their own land and family home!

Assisting people to reach their goals, whether it be to get that piece of equipment or support in place motivates me, as I know from personal experience, the difference this will make on their lives’.

Available in more than 500 languages, it is the most translated document in the world.'

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The Ode of Remembrance is taken from the Laurence Binyon poem; For The Fallen, first published in 1914, shortly after the start of World War One.

It has been read that Binyon wrote the poem in September 1914 after British & French soldiers retreated from Mons, during the Battle of the Marne.

ID: On a white backdrop, three vibrant red poppies stand to the left with long green stems. Dark red text positioned to the top right hand corner reads 'Remembrance Day 2021, Lest We Forget'. Small red text in the bottom right corner reads 'Never Forgotten, Always Remembered'.
