The 13th of April 1989 was when the first Auslan (Australian Sign Language) dictionary was published. This led to the name for the language used by Deaf people and the Deaf community.

Auslan is a beautiful language that I love learning. Let’s all celebrate this language of Australia, with it’s rich history and culture. The more people who learn Auslan, the closer we are to creating a more inclusive society.

Speech Pathologists help children to communicate, and when they have trouble with eating and drinking.

We help children who have challenges with understanding and talking with others, but we also do more than assist with spoken words! Speech Pathologists support other ways to communicate such as using signs, symbols, and technology. Speech Pathologists can also assist with spelling and reading.
