‼️EXTREME HEAT AND FIRE WEATHER WARNING
⚠ COMMUNITY HEALTH WARNING
🙏🏽 Please take care!

Please be advised that the Bureau of Meteorology has issued an Extreme Heat and Fire Weather Warning across most of Victoria Country fire weather districts.

Extreme heat can affect anyone. Those more at risk include:
* those over the age of 65
* young children and babies
* pregnant women
* people with acute or chronic health problems
* people who are socially isolated
* those with limited ways to keep cool
* pets without shade and fresh water

For rural resident the CFA advises that you action your bushfire survival plan now.

There are steps you can take to protect yourself and others:
* Stay cool. Use air conditioning and/or a fan. Wear light and loose clothing. Keep skin wet, using a spray bottle or damp sponge and by taking cool showers. If you can’t keep cool at home, think about where you can go on hot days to cool down such as public pools or air-conditioned buildings.
* Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Keep drinking fluids before you feel thirsty, especially if outdoors and performing physical activity. (This includes your pets)!
* Check in with family, friends and neighbours. Let people know you are OK and check in with those at increased risk or who may need your support. Look out for those who might be more affected by extreme heat, like the those over the age of 65 years, babies and young children, pregnant women, people with acute or chronic health problems, those who are socially isolated or those with limited ways to keep cool.
* Plan ahead. Watch the weather forecast in your area and plan activities at cooler times of day.
* Hot cars are dangerous. Never leave kids, adults, or pets in cars. The temperature inside a parked car can double within minutes.

Monitor the fire and weather situation through ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, www.emergency.vic.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au.

Or Download the Vic Emergency app and monitor your local region.

Welcome to Alaya House!

In 2019, APMHA HealthCare and Alaya Partners Australia joined forces in a strategic partnership to establish our first mental health wellness hub located in Shepparton, Victoria. Our aim is to create a Hub which focus on wellness, recovery and supporting people to live a full and contributing life as determined by them.

By establishing this hub, we can ensure a physical presence in the region and create a holistic team approach with our various funded local mental health services and workforce. With the support of the 2019 Victorian Regional Readiness Fund(VRRF) grant, this vision has now become a reality.

As of the 1st of July 2019, Alaya House opened its doors to the Shepparton community and surrounding areas. This hub offers:

  • High quality mental health services (Psychological Therapy Services (PTS), Clinical Care Coordination (PMHCC), StandBy: Support After Su***de Program and Medicare billing services).
