The GV Health Foundation would like to give a big shout-out to McDonald’s South Shepparton for the incredibly generous support 💛

Restaurant Manager Brodie Wagstaff, along with fellow staff members Myah and Emily, dropped in to GV Health to deliver a big bundle of presents for children in the kids’ ward. The gifts were warmly received by Director of the GV Health Foundation, Amy De Paola, and Associate Unit Manager of the Children’s Ward, Emilia Morris, on behalf of patients and families.

Donated by both McDonald’s staff and customers, these gifts will be shared with children staying in hospital over the Christmas period as well as those who attend ED.

We sincerely thank everyone involved for thinking of our youngest patients and helping bring a little extra joy to their day over the Christmas season. 🎄🎁😊

The Oncology Creative Group (pictured below at their Christmas party) meet every second month, providing people experiencing cancer a welcoming space to enjoy creative activities with a diversional, complementary therapy focus.
Gifts are made for oncology patients, made by those who know what it is like to sit in Oncology for treatment. Participating in an enjoyable creative activity can increase a person’s ability to cope and an overall sense of wellbeing.

Let's help the Battery Man hit $1 million in funds raised for GV Health! 🔋💙
Over 16 years, Paul Archer has raised $880,000 for GV Health's Child and Adolescent Unit by collecting and recycling old lead-based batteries from across the region.
Now he's pushing for the $1 million milestone and he needs your help!
Paul can't get out on the road like he used to, so he's asking locals to:
Drop off any lead batteries at Natrad Shepparton, 20 Campbell St
Or lend a hand loading them up for recycling
All across our region, these batteries are collecting dust in old cars and vehicles.
Together, we can turn them into life-changing support for local children.

Congratulations to the Home Nursing Service at Community Health @ GV Health, who were named this year's winners of our annual Christmas Decorating Competition! Their incredible team effort transformed 11 office cubicles into festive scenes, from a gingerbread house to Rudolph’s stable and even a Santa photo station.

Special mentions also go to the Child and Adolescent Unit’s Grinchville, Hut 1’s Candy Cane Lane, the Supply team’s Creative Elves, and many other departments who brought Christmas cheer across GV Health.

Special thanks to our judges from GV Health’s Community Advisory Committee, Lauren Sibio and outgoing Chair Simon Humphrey.

Today we received the sweetest surprise from local teenager Lily Smith, who stopped by with a bundle of handmade crocheted scrunchies as a thank you to our nurses.

Our team absolutely loved them and couldn’t resist trying them on straight away!

Thank you, Lily, for sharing your creativity and kindness with our staff this holiday season.

You truly made their day, and these scrunchies will be getting plenty of wear. 💙

Thank you so much to the Copulos family and the GV Health Foundation.
This is a milestone moment for cancer care in the Goulburn Valley and a huge step forward in regional cancer care.

Today, the GV Health Foundation was joined by key members of the Goulburn Valley Health team and community leaders to hear the announcement of an extraordinary act of generosity.

The Peter and Maria Copulos family has pledged $2 million to support the development of a new Integrated Cancer Centre (ICC) at GV Health, a gift that reflects the Copulos family’s deep and ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of the Goulburn Valley.

The pledge includes:
• $1 million committed to Stage 1, alongside Australian Government funding
• A further $1 million pledged once Stage 2 is fully funded, enabling comprehensive cancer services under one roof at Shepparton Hospital

A fully delivered ICC will mean more coordinated care, reduced travel for patients, and better access to treatment and support services close to home.

Inspired by this generosity, the GV Health Foundation is launching a $5 million community fundraising campaign, inviting our entire region to play a part in delivering quality cancer care, close to home.

The GV Health Foundation sincerely thanks the Copulos family for their outstanding support of both our community and this much-needed Integrated Cancer Centre.

As we move toward 2026, the Foundation will continue working to raise the remaining funds and hopes many will be inspired by the Copulos family’s leadership and generosity.
