All roads 🚗 this afternoon led Rachael to health to provide bi-monthly small group clinical supervision to a wonderful team of maternal and child health nurses 👩‍⚕️ 👶

Clinical supervision using reflective practice and deliberate practice is so important in order to improve client outcomes, promote self care and prevent burnout.

Sunny ☀️ day winters day today at Equine and these two were treated to a wash 🧽 and a roll!

Themes of self care, boundary setting, anti bully strategies, protecting self (when others are mean), choices and consequences and also slowing one’s nervous system down were themes for the day whilst we engaged in our sessions.

Humans and horses had a wonderful day in a non traditional therapy setting.

SET THEM UP TO SUCCEED! Teach pups life skills so they can enjoy freedom as adults. Begin with a safe and enriching environment. As their skills grow, so does their freedom. When raising children their freedom increases as they learn to make safe choices. Help pups too by managing their environment while their skills develop.
When l visit pups in their new home, like adorable Rottweiler Marley, it’s about preventing her from making mistakes, while providing opportunities for her to thrive. Her “puppy parents” learn dog language and gentle ways to teach household rules. Meeting her needs includes building a safe and trusting attachment and creating “legal” outlets for natural dog behaviour, like nipping, chewing and digging. This helps her adapt, learn and be happy in her new family.
