We are in Shepparton, Victoria and propagate and supply plants to local and interstate nurseries and projects. We also have Billabong Rags, Flowers, Lawns and Garden Maintenance an Outdoor Learning Centre and Container Deposit Scheme refund point.

Visy is grateful to work with over 10 social enterprise groups and community houses in the CDS Vic North zone. Groups like , serving the Shepparton area, are doing fantastic work for the community and the environment.

In addition to CDS Vic, the social enterprise includes a wholesale nursery, florist, outdoor learning centre, and a lawns and gardens service. It provides meaningful work and training for supported employees with disabilities.

We are thrilled to welcome Jennie Walker as our new Social Enterprise Manager at ConnectGV and Billabong Wholesale Nursery & Social Enterprise.

Jennie brings a wealth of experience and passion for creating impact through sustainable, community driven initiatives. Jennie has a Bachelor of Applied Science and Graduate Diploma in Horticulture from Burnley (Melb Uni). She has also previously been the Manager of Social Enterprises in a Nursery, Cafรฉ, Catering and maintenance area for people with disabilities in regional Victoria as well as being an Executive Manager of NDIS Day Programs and Social Enterprises. Having owned her own plant nursery in the past, Jennie is well equipped to bring her vision and leadership to help deepen our impact within our social enterprise businesses. Coming from the region during her formative years, it is a pleasure to welcome Jennie back to Shepparton to help provide as many opportunities as we can to people with a disability in supported employment and employment pathways.

This week we were fortunate to welcome the Media and Communications team from VicReturn onsite at Billabong to film and showcase the amazing work we do in our Container Deposit Scheme over the counter refunds, and our other social enterprise businesses (Wholesale Plant Nursery, Lawn and Garden Maintenance, Rags, Flowers and our Outdoor Learning Centre venue). Our staff had the opportunity to speak on camera and gain further experience with interviews and filming. They spoke passionately about how the container deposit scheme and our other businesses provide skills in customer service, money handling, counting, horticulture, and preparing products for sale. Most importantly was their experience with working collaboratively as a team and feeling pride in what they do. Everyone needs a job and we proudly support people with disabilities in our inclusive social enterprise businesses.
