Sandie's Bowen Therapy

Sandie's Bowen Therapy Bowen therapy is a subtle gentle bodywork therapy where a series of moves are made over muscles that can be used to address a wide range of conditions.

Some of the conditions that bowen can help are
back pain,
sciatica,
neck pain,
jaw pain,
migraines,
knee, ankle foot problems, bunions ,fascitis, hamstring injuries. colicky babies, infertility, pregnancy. There are frequent pauses throughout the session that allow the body time to respond to the moves that have been made. What is Bowen Therapy-It was developed in 1950 by the late Tom Bowen from Geelong , Australia. It is a gentle form of bodywork where subtle moves are made over muscles and connective tissue or acupressure points in the body sending messages deep into the body ,allowing the body to respond and commence the healing process. It is recommended to have 3 sessions a week apart but you may find the results from the Bowen so good you may need less and only need maintenance sessions. The therapy is usually carried out on a massage table or chair depending on your comfort level, you can remain
fully clothed provided you have loose fitting clothing on . Each session lasts about 40 mins to an hour except babies which is much shorter.

Just keeping my lovely clients updated . Unfortunately we had to return early from our Alaska trip as my husband now needs heart surgery . Scheduled next week

The wedding in Greensboro , North Carolina was sublime . I found out that Vicks vapour was invented in Greensboro - I always thought it was British .

We stayed in a beautiful area in an air BnB in Grrensboro. Some of the houses were incredible . It’s a beautiful part of the world .

I got to see Walmart and a liquor store that had over 400 whiskies I couldn’t believe it.

We flew to Juneau as the glacier lake was bursting . It was really errie as texts were getting sent every 5 minutes warning of the dangers of the floods . We were keen to get out asap to get the ferry to Haines. But the ferry was delayed so we tried to get out on a seaplane . The isolation and logistics of getting around with weather disruptions affected us as the ferry was delayed and seaplanes cancelled due to the bad weather.
Eventually we ended up getting on the delayed ferry - 2 hours later the glacier lake burst its banks so good timing to be out .

We stayed in a beautiful log cabin that had a river flowing in front if it . People were catching salmon in the stream . We could see bears from our lodge and they were all around the property . Scary as well as exciting . We coild gollow them with caution along the river banks

We stayed in Juneau for a few days - thats when we decided to return via Hawaii due to my husband’s ill heslth .

Luckily we had an apartment where we could see turtles from the deck so that was a great way to restore some health . Thought id post some pictures.

It's with a mix of excitement and gratitude that I announce my retirement from Bowen therapy effective from 30 June 2025.

After 11 wonderful years, I want to personally thank you for your support. As most of you may know, my husband is retiring this year. I have made the decision to take a year off to travel and reflect on the future of my practice.

With this in mind, I will be ending my lease and pausing operations for the time being. This was not an easy choice, but I am excited for this next chapter and will reevaluate my plans after my time away. My last month will be June 2025.

I am truly grateful for all my wonderful and colourful clients, and I appreciate the relationships we have built over the years . Thank you again for being a part of this journey with me.
Regards Sandie

Hi I’ve just returned from an amazing 4 weeks touring India saw tigers, temples and it was pretty taxing- ( taxis, taxing and tiring) travel . India is not for the feinthearted but it has wonderful sites and colours and photo opportunities and people .

On a tiger safari for 12 days and exploring the Golden triangle for the rest of the time .

We saw a total of 21 different tigers on intense safari trips in the wonderful national parks of Tadoba, Pench and Kanha , met some amazing people , saw the Taj Mahal - incredible wonder of the world and Golden temple, and the amazing spectacle of the Indian- Pakistan border closing ceremony .

I’m back taking appointments.

Hi I’ve just returned from another trip to the fabulous Cook Islands to swim with whales on the island of Aitutaki .
I even got to ride a scooter this time and swim with whales and dolphins .
The Cook islanders are lovely hospitable people and I enjoy my visits immensely.
That’s the travel budget for the year but if Jetstar had a quick sale I’d be off to do more research .
Look forward to catching up with everyone again.
