I remember when anxiety became so consuming that I started quietly redesigning my entire life around it.

I genuinely believed I would never again be able to fully relax at social events because, well… 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬? I accepted that sleeping medication would probably be part of my future forever. And little by little, I started making 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 with myself about who I could no longer be.

𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭 because I won’t be able to cope with the pressure anyway.
𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 or allow myself to be known because people might judge me.
𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘶𝘱, 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸, 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 because I can barely hold myself together.

And the hardest part is that when you live with anxiety for long enough, those thoughts stop feeling like fear and start feeling like truth.

What changed everything was finally understanding that anxiety wasn’t proof there was something wrong with me. It was a 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻. A 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆. Old learning trying desperately to keep me safe in ways that no longer fit my life.

That understanding became the doorway.

It’s also why I do the work I do today. Because I know how lonely it can feel when your world keeps getting smaller while everyone around you seems to carry on as though life is easy. And I also know how powerful it is when someone finally helps you make sense of what’s been happening inside your mind.

If this feels familiar, I’d love to invite you to book a free call with me. Sometimes 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 can change the way you see yourself forever.

Ever had moments where you feel like you’re waiting for the freefall to stop?

And then realise.. the brakes are actually in your hands.

You 𝙘𝙖𝙣 close the laptop. Leave the room. End the conversation.
Turn off the noise.

You 𝙘𝙖𝙣 stop the freefall.

If I feel overwhelmed, I usually try to find somewhere quiet and just breathe for a moment. I don’t even try to fix my thinking because that’s kind of what the “over” in over-whelmed means (to me) - I am “over” trying to think or fix. So, I just sit. In stillness.

And then the thoughts come.. all of them. The scary thoughts, the exhausting thoughts, the stories we tell ourselves about what everything means.

Lately I’ve been using a little visual practice with flowing water and tiny gold boxes to help let some of those thoughts come .. and go.

I think so many of us are carrying thoughts, fears and stories in our minds that were never meant to live there forever.

So, if you ever need a quiet place to land on a Sunday.. I send little reflections like this to my email community each week 🤍

Purpose for me isn’t about finding the ONE thing you’re meant to do with your life. For me it’s about knowing what gives you meaning. But that’s my model of the world.

My client was stuck on the question “What am I here to do?”

When we redefined “purpose” - theirs became “to live a joyful life”. And everything relaxed in them as they said it out loud.

Mine is to live a meaningful life - not always happy - but meaningful.

Dr James Hollis once asked “would you choose a happy life or a meaningful life?”

I choose meaningful. Because there are moments with clients in deep suffering where I’m definitely not happy - but my presence there matters. My work, me - in that moment .. is meaningful.

Purpose doesn’t need to be some grand, dramatic impact (it can be if that’s what lights you up of course) ..

But I think it’s more about “What gives you meaning?”

When you know the answer to that question, struggle and hard times are temporary and lighter .. because it’s meaningful.

Your friend just became your direct report.

They're burning out and you can see it. Their team can see it. But every time you suggest they take leave, they dig in harder - like you are suggesting they can't cope or something.

Now you're stuck. Do you back off and watch them crash? Or do you push harder and risk damaging the friendship?

I learned the hard way that leadership is not about being liked. It’s about caring enough to have the uncomfortable conversation - the one that sometimes protects them from themselves.

The conversation you're avoiding is the one that will define whether you are leading from friendship or leading with it.

And there 𝗶𝘀 a way to have it that's less about 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜.. and more about 𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜.

Comment "𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘" and I’ll send you the link to download my 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 - a short NLP-based framework for 5 of the harder conversations new leaders often avoid.

This is a different way of sharing my work… but it’s the same work I’ve always done.

Because even coaches, the ones who hold space for others, feel it…

That flutter in your gut, that hesitation about posting something or offering something. It’s like a flash of fear where you suddenly don’t really want to draw attention to yourself.

And it’s easy to tell yourself it’s because you don’t know what to say.

But more often… it’s that little voice that says..

Is this actually interesting?
Is this worth sharing?
Will anyone like it?

This is the work I’ve always done.

Helping people notice the pattern… and then resourcing themselves to move through it.

In this offer, I’m showing you exactly how I use NLP with my clients to build what you need… in your nervous system.

To steady it.
So you can lean into the part of you that already wants to move forward.

Because you do know what it feels like to be resourced.

You’ve felt it when you’re driving confidently and completely at ease. When you’re sitting watching TV and your body is calm.

This is about learning how to take those states…
into the moments that matter.

When you’re about to hit post. When you’re about to send the offer. When you’re staring at the screen wondering what to write.

The 14 Day NLP Offer Sprint gives you a simple, practical way to do exactly that… while actually creating and sharing your offers.

If something in you is ready to move… this is your next step.

When you’re stuck in the rocks…
the cracks…
the same patterns repeating…

it feels like your life is the problem.

But it’s not.

It’s where you’re looking from.

Zoomed in, everything feels heavy.
Zoomed out, you start to see:

- What’s actually happening
- What keeps repeating
- and what’s still possible for you

That’s the shift we create inside The Quest.

It’s not about fixing every “rock” in your life.

It’s about stepping back far enough…
that you can finally see the path you’re on - and choose a new one.

If you’ve been stuck in the same patterns for a while…

This is your invitation to look up.

Sometimes it’s not just one thing going wrong… it’s everything.

And just when your mind is already full, it decides to revisit old conversations, past mistakes, moments you thought you’d moved on from… usually around 3am.

In The Quest this week, I’m sharing a simple Neuro-linguistic programming process to help take the emotional charge out of those moments…

So they stop draining your energy
and just become something that happened.

If something keeps resurfacing for you, this might be the week to step in 🤍

Every hero reaches a moment when the old world no longer fits…
but the new world hasn’t revealed itself yet.

That in-between place? That is where The Quest begins.

Ten months.
Ten chapters of understanding yourself.
Ten months of using NLP to become the person your future keeps calling you towards.

If you can feel that call for change, even quietly - you’re ready.

Anxiety isn't our enemy .. even though it can feel like it. I know. I've been there - but the truth is .. anxiety is our messenger and it doesn’t need fixing .. it needs translating. And to do that, we need to soften the way we respond when we're anxious.

These three tips are small, ordinary things. And that’s exactly why they work. They are practical and accessible so you can reach for them anytime.

They help in the moment, but if you'd like to resolve the root cause of your anxiety - I recommend we chat.

1️⃣ Lengthen your exhale.
Your body listens to breath before it listens to logic. A slower, longer exhale tells your nervous system that the moment is safer than it feels. A longer exhale gives your body a longer way out and when you couple it with a sigh, your body gets the signal it can relax.

2️⃣ Warm your self-talk.
Anxiety really tightens its grip when we turn on ourselves. Try speaking the way you would to someone you love. Gentle. Understanding. Kind. That tone alone helps your system settle and feel less under threat. Think "It's ok. You're doing the best you can. All is well."

3️⃣ Walk outside. Barefoot if you can.
Movement gives your nervous system somewhere to send its energy. Even a few minutes of walking, feeling the ground, letting your body sway and breathe, sends a simple message: I’m here. I’m moving. I’m okay.

None of this is about trying to fix you, because anxiety is a normal part of living. It’s more about helping your system remember safety, one small signal at a time.

If anxiety has been loud lately, start here. Quietly. Kindly. One breath, one word, one step. 🤍
