Leg length discrepancies are a very common finding in both child and adult populations. In the majority of cases the difference in lengths is minimal and the body compensates well to allow for this. More severe differences (i.e. differences of 1.1cm or more) can be the cause of significant postural strain and may result in pain and dysfunction in the entire spine, hips and other joints in the lower limb.

Our Chiro word of the month is ‘Brain’. The human brain is marvellous! It’s the organ that sits inside our skull that is responsible for controlling all of our bodily movements, thinking, speaking, swallowing… basically everything! On average, an adult human brain weighs 1.5kg. That’s the equivalent of 1.5 bags of sugar! Heavy!!

Sciatica is nerve pain that radiates from your lower back and/or hips, down the back of your leg (or sometimes both legs). It’s usually caused by irritation and/or compression of the sciatic nerve.
